LIVERPOOL VS BOLTON - A tough game

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

at the end of the day it was about the three points today and we got them, depite a shaky start.

first half was awful. i thought i'd gone to watch a testimonial match. i couldn't believe how direct we were playing, considering we were at home. however fowler took his goal superbly and if he doesn't get a new contract at the end of the season i'll streak across anfield in an everton kit. :D

The important thing is that we got the 3 points and had we not we would have slipped further behind Utd. I would go so far as to say like some on here that it was our worst of the season. Its never going to be a clean smooth game againsty a team like Bolton. They are one of the most physical sides in the league and they pushed us close on a few occasions. Stellios had the best chance for them but Pepe played well, very well.

I saw a few loose balls today go astray as Sammi looked a bit tired to be honest. The squad has done so well considering when their season started. I was expecting Sissoko to play and Stevie on the right but maybe that have to wait for our next match.

They tested us quite  abit on the wings but we held our nerve and got the 3 points.

Roll on Chelsea!!!!

3 points in the bag and im not too bothered that we werent at our best. Just hoping that we save our best for Cheatski. Robbie's done enough now hopefully if Rafa still had any doubts. Crouch again played his part in the goal and it was a great piece of play between them.

Looking forward to watching the game on football first tonight, especially due to the linesman apparently flagging us for offside from a throw in. I don't know how he signalled because I haven't seen it on TV yet, but I think offside is holding the flag straight up above the head isn't it? At the game I thought it was a possible hand ball.

On this forum, everytime we play badly and Cisse plays, everyone says that Cisse was to blame.
Personally I think we played better with Cisse than Garcia. It made no difference having Garcia on instead of Cisse.

I'll be honest Crouch was :censored: as usual, and Cisse should play instead of him.

yeah he only set up the goal. what the f#ck did cisse do of any note when he was on?

ffs change the record will ya?

djib had a good game last week against a very poor, slow left back. today he was up against a player who was just as quick and his push and run just didnt work. not good enough centrally or out wide against any form of decent opposition, end of story.

How does everyone blame Cisse? Just because in the past people who are in the majority of not rating him have been blasted by you Greame. I dont want to fall into the category of being a Cisse hater. I have just seen enough of him to know he is not Liverpool standard and never will be. Knock Crouch all you like but he has a good season fitting in with the way the boss wants us to play. Rafa suprised us all by signing a player who we all scoffed at but im happy with Crouch. If it was a contest between them two players i know who would be going and who is long term for the club. Please get over Cisse.

cisse was no worse than a lot of other players out there today. that's one of the grottiest matches i've seen at anfield for a fair while, but these are the games where we've been grinding out 3 points a lot more than in recent seasons so pretty chuffed at the end of the day particularly for robbie

as for the atmosphere it was bizarre. i was in the annie road which is usually ok but the whole place was flat as a pancake today. i know bolton are hardly everton or manu but they're having a decent season and have surprised a few sides so i thought there'd be a bit more banter with their fans down there. the only consolation is their fans were even quieter than ours

i agree that as long as we get 3 points, it can't be all that bad....our recent run of wins is going un-noticed as man u continue to pressure chelsea.....which is good, less pressure is always better. 2nd place looks hard to get at the moment, but United's next game is probably gonna be their hardest of the season ;)

I don't think we played that well today, lost the ball far too many times and i don't think, whether we were playing bolton or birmingham we should have gotten away with that at Anfield. Long ball was an annoying tactic used mainly when crouch is around, who didn't have a great game along with most of the team, but i gotta say Reina and carragher protected us well and really kept us from being embarrassed at times...
Fowler's goal was a great finish which will do wonders for his confidence, i don't think any one player was to blame for playing bad cos they were all to blame at some point in the game for being sloppy, but Fowler was an exception....his touch is still amazing, especially for someone who is not match fit.

I don't mind that we weren't at our best today, cos this was one of our hardest matches left, and we still got 3 points. The next game WILL be the hardest game out of the remaining fixtures, so i hope they'll snap out of it.

And Arsenal today i thought played well in the 1st 30 mins or so, at one point they had 60% possession at old trafford, with a majority of the chances? but united, as expected came back into it and then took it well away from them especially in the 2nd half....Henry on the bench was suprising, him and persie could have done damage together...but they never really looked like they were that bothered, and final ball was terrible. They could have done us a big favour if they were properly up for the match, and beating Arsenal will make man u think they are invincible.....best run in 6 years apparently, oh well. :blues:

I like Cisse to play up front with RF NOT on the RM or LM.  I think if they played together, we will win more 1:0.

I have a feeling that cisse will go next season and if he back against us,he will score a winner.

God only knows why Henry did not start for arsenal I would have thought it was quite important for them to beat man-u and go for 4th place knock the totts of 4th and help us to 2nd place to.
I thought a few of our lads where a little bit off key today but there is no point in naming players cos at the end of the day we got the job done.

Arsenal think they are gonna win the champions league....But they are forgetting one thing. They are not LFC. They should be concerntrating on getting 4th spot.

Arsene wa.nk.er cocked-up big-time by leaving out henry.
