Why would we lower our asking price? A bit cheeky that. Maybe if they give us a player at cut price we will see.

Sorry? They want us to lower our asking price? In that case tell them we want Kaka but they need to lower the price to about 5p

Worse still WHO THE HELL IS SELLING OUR PLAYERS WITH NO MANAGER?

If he wants to go then let him but only after someone is put in charge and can atleast talk to the man! If after that he still wants to go then fine. I woulnt hold it against him after everything he has done for the club.

I really hope Stevie didn't make those comments to the media and perhaps him or his agent could make a brief statement if he didnt say it.

i love stevie for all the wonderful things he has done for us but i always feel warmer towards Carra.  i dont like the way Stevie has always left the door open for speculation.  (even though the media are the one's to blow it up)

Gotta laugh at this "Real Madrid want Liverpool to lower asking price from £30m for England skipper Steven Gerrard" What do they think an ASKING PRICE is about? That is how much you value a player at and expect someone to offer it if they want the player in question.

Or they can make a bid of lower than the asking price..................................

I still cannot understand why Real Madrid want Steven Gerrard? Yes, Gerrard is a world class footballer who is an asset to any team, but Real Madrid have Fernando Gago, Mahamadou Diarra, Lassana Diarra, Kaka, Guti, Van Der Vaart and Esteban Granero.

I just cannot see how Gerrard will fit in unless Real Madrid are planning offloading some of these players? From what I have seen Mahamadou Diarra seldom plays and Guti has been heavily linked with Blackburn, but that still doesn't leave a lot of room for Gerrard does it?

As for Real Madrid wanting us to lower our valuation of Steven Gerrard, I say stick a shoe in your horn, Madrid. That club paid nearly £60m for Kaka and £80m for Cristiano Ronaldo, therefore they can afford a miserly £30m for Steven Gerrard who as Kaka says "is the most complete midfielder in the world".

How dare you forget about Xabi Alonso  :)

Seriously though, RM seem to just buy players and expect the manager to win everything.  All logic goes out the window with that club and why top players still want to join them is beyond me...

I knew I had forgotten someone.

I could understand players wanting to move to Real Madrid if they were winning trophies, but they haven't made it past the last 16 of the CL in six years and haven't won La Liga since 2008. They're the second best team in Spain.

If Gerrard had ambitions of moving to Chelsea, Inter or Barcelona I could understand, but Real Madrid? It makes little sense to me other than for prestige and money.

i also can't get my head around it.  Giving the money they spend, id expect a lot better results.

the fact is, they treat managers and players like dirt.  Don't be surprised if Stevie does sign and the following season they're trying to sell him off to make room for the next Galactico.

Yep. Just tell Stevie he has 2/3 years on his contract left. If he wants to go after that then let him go but for now he has a contract.
