all i know about the sale of the club is that RBS are very unhappy with the amount of bad press they are getting over it.
every day this week there has been bad press for them and it has not gone unseen by the top bods at RBS.

Lakesy, I sent those letters off today to the RBS people identified in the T&T thread, have you yet... come on, we need everyone to.

As you say, the more pressure we put them under the better. Every little bit helps.

Hehe I had a tenner on him at 6-1

I fear that good performances are are going to do little more than give H&G an extra couple on million to syphon off.

well I f you think its a lot and that he and Jamie might have spoken since Stevie G  has been in SA, then i think its safe to say that both Stevie and Torres will be here next season.

talking on the radio today....(yes yes Talkshit) he said he was confident that both will be at liverpool next season.......pushed about his dad and the liverpool job he said that his dad still had work to do at spurs and that he is building a great team that could keep its place in the top 4.

I dont think jamie would have stuck his neck out if he did not know something.

what do you think?

Is this the same Jamie Redknapp who apparently said Gerrard was a goner, or is that a different Jamie Redknapp entirely?

Different situation really considering Gerrard admitted himself that his decision to stay and not go to Chelsea was a last minute one.

Stevie was a goner.. it wasn't until virtually the news conference (and some shady persuasion allegedly) that Stevie decided to stay

Well considering Stevie isnt supposed to be going nowhere according to Christie and Martin. why is it that some of our players keep coming out and saying i hope he stays , First Pepe ,Agger and now Dirk, Why do they feel the need to bring up Gerrard saying they hope he stays, Im sorry but they must know something to keep coming out and saying this,

But who do we believe , Christie and big Martin ,
or
Pepe , Danny and Dirk

Dirk Kuyt fears for Steven Gerrard's Liverpool FC future
Jun 20 2010

Dirk Kuyt

LIVERPOOL FC's Dirk Kuyt was disappointed to see Rafa Benitez leave his post as manager of the club - and he hopes captain Steven Gerrard doesn't follow the the Spaniard out of Anfield.

Benitez left Liverpool FC by mutual consent earlier this month to bring an end to a six-year tenure that was highlighted by his Champions League success in 2005.

Kuyt was signed by Benitez from Dutch side Feyenoord a year later and the 29-year-old forward admitted he would be forever thankful to the Spaniard for giving him his chance in English football.

"I was sad to see Rafa go. He was the manager who brought me over to Liverpool and I think he is a great manager," said Kuyt.

"He was very important for Liverpool. He won the Champions League and did wonderful things for the club.

"I would just like to thank Rafa for bringing me to Liverpool and making me the player I am now."

Following Benitez’s departure there have been fears on Merseyside that Gerrard could follow him out of the club, with new Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho reportedly keen on luring a player he almost signed while he was with Chelsea.

That would be a major blow to Liverpool FC’s hopes next season in the eyes of Kuyt, after they could only manage a seventh-place finish in the Barclays Premier League last term.

"I wouldn’t like to see Stevie G go. Everyone wants to keep Stevie at the club," he added.

"He is the captain of the team, he’s very important and his heart is bleeding Liverpool.

"So it must be a very good offer or a very good club if he wants to leave.

"But I don’t know what will happen. It’s just up to him and the club.

"I have spoken to Stevie while I have been here. We wished each other all the best before the games started but we just talked about football and not his future."

Too much confusion going on here.

Dirk, Pepe dont want Stevie to go, so why would he leave:

a) For football reasons ie he wants to win the league at another club,
b) He doesnt have any faith in the ownership, manager or transfer situations, ie no progress forward, or
c) They fear he's going to be sold to reduce the debt as no buyers have come forward.

Which one is it because until we identify the motivation, we cant find a solution.

NOTE BENE: Rafa left for reason b).

From The daily Mail

Real Madrid want Liverpool to lower asking price from £30m for England skipper Steven Gerrard

Comments (0) Add to My Stories  Walking away: Steven Gerrard's Liverpool future is in doubt after a poor season on Merseyside
Real Madrid want Liverpool to drop their valuation of Steven Gerrard  as they try to finalise a move for the England midfielder.

The Liverpool captain insists he will not make a decision on his club future until after the World Cup but Real are pressing to put a deal in place.

Liverpool are reluctant to sell the 30-year-old but know he is not happy with the club's progress. And if he insists on going they want close to £30m.

Speaking after England's draw with Algeria on Friday, Gerrard reportedly told Spanish media: 'It is possible that I'll be in Madrid next season. I'm aware of the club's offer so maybe we'll see each other in Madrid. I can't say anymore.
'I'm just concentrating on the World Cup. My agent is looking after it all.'

Real believe Gerrard is overpriced and have inquired about Roma's Italy international Daniele de Rossi as an alternative. They expect to pay about £20m for Gerrard but could be in for some hard bargaining.

Barcelona, meanwhile, have rekindled interest in Gerrard's clubmate Javier Mascherano.

I think thjis is just cr@p as Stevie wouldn't talk to the press until after the WC now he has supposed to have talked to the Spanish Media and said that above.

Even if he does leave RM cannot be allowed to stitch us up again over price.
