Gerrard ain't no mug, he knows the turmoil fans are in..

Like what ?

are you serious or on a wind up Benjamin?

No i am being serious.

I am not sure what you wanted him to come out and say ?

Do you want his opinion on whats happened with Rafa.
His opinion on who should come in ?
Or him to tell us what's going on behind closed doors ?

I am just confused as to what exactly people are wanting him to come out and say.

So, is the real hurt here because Gerrard didn't take the opportunity to lament Rafa's departure or wish him all the best?  Couldn't care less about that personally.  Rafa's a big boy, first of all, and I'm sure he'll be fine with how things have shaken out, whether Gerrard's wished him well publicly or not.  Second, I'm sure Stevie's already done the decent/politick thing and rung Rafa up on his mobile to wish him well.  Just because he doesn't shout it from the rooftops so a few fans can nod and say "is right Stevie lad" doesn't mean he hasn't reached out to Rafa.

is right Bob lad

:D you know what - that is so true, how leaderless our club is at all levels  :no

BB - you make some decent points.

I have to say I'm extremely emotional at the moment, I havn't felt so low about LFC like now. I know I'm not the only one here, where are all worried and hurtin.

I respect Stevie G - he has been Mr Liverpool for a long time, and so I wanted to hear some words of 'comfort' from him.. not on the eve of a the WC.. when Rafa left - even if it was a statement from his agent.. Pepe and Mascha could muster something..

Any how I don't wanna fight ... I just want it all to get betta..  :help

how about just wishing the guy all the best?
for fecks sake just a wee sentence that's more than he deserved? did he deserve the sack? yes, possibly but all the same it stinks and we had all better get used to mid table mediocrisy as gerrard and torres will not be here at the start of the season, yes Rafa was stubborn and had his faults   but stevie should have just simply wished him all the best   sorry stevie you have gone down in my estimations, calling him a ponce was a bit harsh so I take that back but I expected more from the lad! :nod

Maybe's he's done it privately?  Does it always have to be a big public thing?   ???

I'm sure he's had some words with Rafa in private. Stevie's never been one top air his thought sin public, he keeps himself to himself in many ways, even as Captain. You sense he really does not want to let anything lfc distract from this World Cup and if any of you have read his autobiography you will know just how important his England career is to him. He bit a reporters head off when they asked him another lfc question at the England press conference today and I think he simply wants to avoid the subject (in public) at all costs.

Personally, i'm scared he will leave the club but I don't think he has made his mind up at all and this World Cup could not be timed better for us as fans because he (and others) do not have the usual 6 weeks to sit around and puzzle over their futures, of course they have got agents to do that for them. The better England and spain go in this World Cup the better it will be for Liverpool Football Cup. England to beat Spain in the final would do just fine.

Just got a fiver on Stevie to open the scoring against the Yanks on Saturday!

Is anyone else proud as punch to see Stevie Captain the England team to this World Cup? I'm made up for the lad.

For the drama queens amongst us, yes !

I agree with Gerrards response though. Whether we like it or not, he plays for Liverpool AND England, and at this minute in time, England comes first as they are in a major competition, and he is the captain.

The priority for Gerrard is captaining England during this world cup, as fans ours is the club, and watching the world cup.

Those wanting a response now will have to be patient and wait until his whole attention is back with the club.

What ever happens now with Gerrard and his future I will always cherish the decade or so he gave to the club and the wonderful memories he made along the way.

Gerrard Compilation

Not many of those goals in that footage were inside the box. His finishing over the years has generally been world class, magnificent striker of the ball.
Football is a relatively simple game and Roy knows it ;)

How often do you think jamie redknapp talks to Stevie G ?

well I f you think its a lot and that he and Jamie might have spoken since Stevie G  has been in SA, then i think its safe to say that both Stevie and Torres will be here next season.

talking on the radio today....(yes yes Talkshit) he said he was confident that both will be at liverpool next season.......pushed about his dad and the liverpool job he said that his dad still had work to do at spurs and that he is building a great team that could keep its place in the top 4.

I dont think jamie would have stuck his neck out if he did not know something.

what do you think?

Hope it's true Lakes. But I also hope that rumor about that Sheikh Kalfhia is true too.
