And Lakes/Kewell just drop it, some people here just do not get it and never will.

I have a question I'd like people to respond to, if the firing of Rafa and hiring of a new manager proves to be vital in the selling of the club.. Will the owners that everyone hates get any credit for doing something in the club's best interest?  Or was it all because of Purslow/Broughton?  Was the firing of Rafa even the owner's decision or Purslow/Broughton?  Rafa was not bigger than the club and if firing him equals new owners, more funds, new stadium etc etc then I'll take it.

You say the man had problem with the players.
Besides fringe players and bench warmers, prove to me that anyone in the 1st 11 disliked Rafa or had problems with him?
I am sorry, but I don't buy the media stories and sky's agenda.

What we do know from the FACTS is that Reina and Masch have come out and praised the manager. What the other players think we don't know as not anyone of the has said anything so it is only in you head as you know as much as me what Torres think of Rafa.
What we do know is that Gerrard and Torres came out before the season's end and sung from the same hymn as Rafa saying we needed investment in the squad.

And what ever proff do you have in any fact that sacking Rafa=new owners. Bull**** of the highest order is what I can all it.
The owners have just removed one of the biggest obstacle of selling Torres and Gerrard.
Rafa had control of all the transfers and have said that he would never sell Torres or Gerrard as long as he was manager.
That is a fact not insinuations that you go on with.

How can replacing Rafa with for example O'Neil make us more attractive for a new owner?
Rafa has incredible reputation worldwide after his successes at Valencia and Liverpool and have all the biggest clubs in Europe asking for him every now and then.
O'Neil?
Won practically 0 besides the scottish league and pretty much a nobody worldwide. I am not so sure RM or Inter would come calling anytime soon....
And my predicition is that the owners will foreign(duh) which means a manager that raises the reputation of the club is a good thing. Rafa is definatly one of those, o'neil isn't.
Just baffling how you can draw a conclusion that new manager might prove vital in the selling of the club. What makes you even draw that conclusion? Wishful thinking?

This isn't about Rafa being bigger than the club but firing him does not equal a new stadium... :no

I never said anything you said I said in your post, never brought up O'neil or anyone.  All of it is what ifs and hypothetical situations, even yours.  Gerrard and Torres saying that doesn't mean they necessarily backed the manager does it?  The funds are an absolute necessity to competing in modern football no matter who the manager is.  And to new owners who watched us play this past season it wouldn't be too hard to tell that we were absolute sh!t and our style wasn't necessarily that attractive to people anywhere worldwide.  I'm not drawing any conclusions nor am I saying it's absolutely going to happen, but the fact of the matter is that it is a possibility whether you like it or not.

And just so people know I wasn't happy Rafa was sacked, but if it leads to good things for us in the long run then we have to move on.  Also I'm not saying they WILL happen, I'm just trying to be optimistic about it, that's all.  Time will tell whether I'm right and or wrong, either way I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

Typical amount of arrogant and miseducated bollox from them as per usual. Why is it that the WW2 always gets brought into an argument? Wasn't that war already being fought for a couple of years before they got involved? No one saved anyone in that terrible event. Everyone lost. There were a thousand and one different vairables that if they weren't successeful from all sides, the war would have been lost. Always the same sh*t from them until you educate them about it. I'm not tarring every single American with the same brush here, so don't get your wires crossed. It's just that I've heard far too many rants like that one and they all sound the f*cking same.

well what did you think they were going to say.....we just burnt their flag.[/quote]
lakes..... you're unbelievably ignorant for someone who professes to be educated.

zara, it isn't the flag burning that has upset people. It is the fact it makes us look like a bunch of idiots.

What if i were to tell you that there was another american group interested in our club...a group who would have paid off our debts and moved us forward?  What if i was then to tell you that they have turned their attentions elsewhere because of the amount of racist bile that's been put out over the last couple of years?

Kewell.. donb't be soft lad,  if anyone wants to buy this club, they will know what has riled the fans, no American willing to invest in this club will be put off by the this.. ppl with some brains will know what this is about.

And it is scandalous what is goin on at our club - I can't march with these, but If I were up there now, I'd be camped outside Anfield too.

Ppl are getting het-up about what is being posted on American forums... what the f'uck is wrong with this place, our club is being discredited, we are officially seen as vulnerable and our 'prized' assets easy pickings, we are effectively in administration and ppl are bothered about this flag burning and american forums.. well I tell you now this is gonna get far worse now that Benitez has gone, the only ally WE FANS HAD !
THE BRENDAN REVOLUTION IS UPON US !

KING KENNY.. Always LEGEND !

RAFA.. MADE THE PEOPLE HAPPY !

Miss YOU Phil-Drummer - RIP YNWA

S.O.S is working, they are voicing the concerns and frustrations of supporters, they are educating supporters on the immense damage being done to us. I was highly ignorant to the severity of the damage these two profiteers were doing to our club until I started reading articles published by S.O.S.

S.O.S has been very effective in giving Hicks and Gillett enough mainstream negative publicity, they have shown what kind of people we have running our club. There's not much else S.O.S can do, but they have shown they'll go right to the wire when it comes to representing fans views and that's exactly what I want from any union.

Thanks Reg. That one about the turnstile clicks really stood out the most for me. God that's a lot of money going out the door.

Anyone know when this UEFA ruling comes into play about clubs in Europe and debt? Is it too crazy an idea to maybe pursue that idea as it would force the owners to pay off the debt (which we know they can't afford to do) or sell the club surely? I know Platini is a bit of a knob sometimes but if that ruling was rubber stamped it would benefit us greatly.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

i try to see the wider image of the club and its fans, for years we got a bad name in the press for something that happend over seas,  then when we lost 96 loved ones the press put the blame onto us again, we have had a fight to show how wrong they are and the scum they are....lets not undo the good work doneby us fans. liverpool fans burning anything is not a good image to see.

get the owners out by use of Wit And Wisdom and you will win friends along the way.

This is my first post here, but I've been lurking for years.  For once Lakes hit it on the head.  Until about 10 years ago you couldn't watch much football in the States, and I liked Michael Owen (I know that's a sore subject here) so I started to follow Liverpool.  I've learned a lot of great things about this club's traditions; now sadly remember April 15th as something other than the day I have to file my taxes; would never buy that s&*t rag.  But Lakes has a point, I still see s&^t all over the internet blaming Liverpool fans for Heysel and Hillsborough.

I'm sorry but anger leads to stupidity.  And incidents like this, whether people like it or not, give people the wrong impression about Liverpool fans.  And if people connect this to SOS, it hurts them too.

Lets keep things in brutal perspective:

1. There was never an official UEFA enquiry into Heysel. No official finding of a unsuitable, decrepid stadium, woeful policing and once again UEFA ticketing arrangements that led to teh two sets of fans being together in the same section of the ground.
2. The findings of the Hillsborough report have never been made public nor acted on. 96 people died without anyone accepting blame. Terrible mistakes were made which have been openly ignored.

We can discuss our 'image' forever but our two greatest tragedies have been manipulated in such a way to present a distorted version so by definition whether we play the good guy and patiently and  repeatedly ask for the owners to sell up (hopefully before they break the club), or protest in more high profile ways makes no difference - the press will report it however they want and no one will contradict them.

H&G WILL break this club. Burning the flag perfectly depicts the stage of despair the fans have arrived at. Would you rather we burn a flag AFTER the club has filed for bankrupcy?
