Like it or not the man had problems with players, the fact that no one apart from Reina and Masch have said anything positive about him should put that speculation to an end. IF handled the right way this could be the start of something really good for the club, maybe it had to do with finding new owners. Time will tell but ever the optimist I will always hope for the best even in the most dire situations.
And Lakes/Kewell just drop it, some people here just do not get it and never will.
I have a question I'd like people to respond to, if the firing of Rafa and hiring of a new manager proves to be vital in the selling of the club.. Will the owners that everyone hates get any credit for doing something in the club's best interest? Or was it all because of Purslow/Broughton? Was the firing of Rafa even the owner's decision or Purslow/Broughton? Rafa was not bigger than the club and if firing him equals new owners, more funds, new stadium etc etc then I'll take it.
You say the man had problem with the players.
Besides fringe players and bench warmers, prove to me that anyone in the 1st 11 disliked Rafa or had problems with him?
I am sorry, but I don't buy the media stories and sky's agenda.
What we do know from the FACTS is that Reina and Masch have come out and praised the manager. What the other players think we don't know as not anyone of the has said anything so it is only in you head as you know as much as me what Torres think of Rafa.
What we do know is that Gerrard and Torres came out before the season's end and sung from the same hymn as Rafa saying we needed investment in the squad.
And what ever proff do you have in any fact that sacking Rafa=new owners. Bull**** of the highest order is what I can all it.
The owners have just removed one of the biggest obstacle of selling Torres and Gerrard.
Rafa had control of all the transfers and have said that he would never sell Torres or Gerrard as long as he was manager.
That is a fact not insinuations that you go on with.
How can replacing Rafa with for example O'Neil make us more attractive for a new owner?
Rafa has incredible reputation worldwide after his successes at Valencia and Liverpool and have all the biggest clubs in Europe asking for him every now and then.
O'Neil?
Won practically 0 besides the scottish league and pretty much a nobody worldwide. I am not so sure RM or Inter would come calling anytime soon....
And my predicition is that the owners will foreign(duh) which means a manager that raises the reputation of the club is a good thing. Rafa is definatly one of those, o'neil isn't.
Just baffling how you can draw a conclusion that new manager might prove vital in the selling of the club. What makes you even draw that conclusion? Wishful thinking?
This isn't about Rafa being bigger than the club but firing him does not equal a new stadium...
I never said anything you said I said in your post, never brought up O'neil or anyone. All of it is what ifs and hypothetical situations, even yours. Gerrard and Torres saying that doesn't mean they necessarily backed the manager does it? The funds are an absolute necessity to competing in modern football no matter who the manager is. And to new owners who watched us play this past season it wouldn't be too hard to tell that we were absolute sh!t and our style wasn't necessarily that attractive to people anywhere worldwide. I'm not drawing any conclusions nor am I saying it's absolutely going to happen, but the fact of the matter is that it is a possibility whether you like it or not.
And just so people know I wasn't happy Rafa was sacked, but if it leads to good things for us in the long run then we have to move on. Also I'm not saying they WILL happen, I'm just trying to be optimistic about it, that's all. Time will tell whether I'm right and or wrong, either way I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
