RAFA BENITEZ LEAVES LIVERPOOL - Official Thread, includes merged threads

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Scottbot » Thu Jun 03, 2010 10:46 am

the way I see it there are three possible scenarios here.

1/ The owners want Rafa out because it means they can generate a fire sale of our best players to ease their debt burden and speed up the sale of the club. all the while they can hide behind the 'fact' the players have said they want to leave and who are they to keep them against their wishes. A new manager coming in will work with whatever conditions he is given as far as player sales or you simply sell the players first and then give him a SLICE of the money raised to bring in his own men.

2/ Rafa is being moved on purely for footballing reasons. last season was unacceptable. His use of the resources given to him, his purchases in the summer were (in hindsight) nonsensical and there is zero confidence in the board to allow him to spend anymore money given his recent record. They want to get in someone who can do more with less because that's the way it's gonna be around here for the foreseeable future.

3/ It's all about player power. Gerrard and Torres are willing to stay and give it another go next season but they've lost complete confidence in the manager. This is backed up by Carra and these feelings have found their way up to board level via the link with Kenny Dalglish. In his book Carra wrote about how Houllier seemed to lose the plot in his final season and he has seen the same in Rafa this season.

Got my fingers crossed it's scenario 2 or 3 and not the first one.

Is that such a bad squad?

I think you have put it very obvious here but I think most wont see your point but anyway to answer you, yes it's strong enough squad to at least beat Reading over two matches (home & away).

I suspect the bids will come in for both players the moment Rafa leaves and I will be very surprised if the club turn them down. I only hope the club move for a manager with a bit of back-bone who would agree to come ONLY on the proviso that we keep our two best players (or at least Torres). I'd be inclined to go for Martin O'neil if i'm honest.

And there you go people the voice of reason.
What was it he  said two weeks ago , I WILL NOT SELL GERRARD OR TORRES WHILE I AM THE MANAGER , yOUS ALL HEARD IT FROM THE MAN HIMSELF, Rafa out of the way its open season on our players

Apart from the O Niel bit, Scott you have nailed it there mate

Was bracing meself for some flack for mentioning O'neil! He's deffo a manager with a bit of backbone though. And anyone coming in is gonna need just that.Whatever happens they have to get someone in IMMEDIATELY, and then they've (the new manager) got to get on the first plane to South Africa and do some serious talking. If they don't i'd say it's nailed on we lose all three of Gerrard, Torres and Masch.

Ill guarentee they will stick Kenny in charge mate to to appease the fans , They will know that No one will give Kenny any stick, (well for about 6 months anyway) and then youll have the usual morons crying and shouting about him. and thats what i could take Scott , Then in the quiet 6 month period they will just carry on raping the club, Thers a method in there mate satify the fans shut them up and lets carry on with robbing the club,

Yep. Agree 100% Nan. If Kenny takes over that would be confirmation that the Leeches are playing the fans - AND WINNING!!!!!

As for Benitez, a contract is a contract, if it says £16m then that's what Benitez should get and I hope he holds out for every single penny he is owed.

not if he did not keep to his contact.

If if was found to be seeking another jon or missed his targets then the club like any other company have the right to sack him and at a less of a cost.

like this forum the club has been a total mess sometimes.

No Lakes the problem is last week the man was dancing on the fuc.k.ng stage with like minded reds , who believe in him. rightly or wrongly some of us think he is doing whats right for this club,   the man has tried  from the beginning in his own way to tell us whats been going on. The man has stood loyal to us ,he could of and should of fecked off long ago with all the sh.ite hes had to put up with, And yet the minute he goes on his holidays the club stab him in the back. by leaking a story. about a board meeting , when was the fecking last time we had a board meeting , There are snides at this club and they need to be outed big time, I feel saddend and ashamed to see my club conduct themselves in this way , I feel ashamed to see this man being treated likethis now,

Thats  the fu.cking problem , Liverpool football club need to hang there heads in shame the way they have conducted this whole matter,

no nan the problem is we have a manger that has a net spend of 109mil and won nothing for 4 years.

Tsk Tsk, Lakes, you SSN addict. I just seen that on there too, and it's the biggest tonne of misleading trunks I've seen for some time. The b"stards never go into detail, never go into the facts or do their research. They just go from A to Z to make something look as damning as possible.

whats SSN got to do with my posts?

Now, now, Lakes. I wasn't born in a bubble.

So glad Rafa is leaving, let him go and ruin another club. RAFA take the poor signings you have made with you. Which is most of the team.

he's a one trick pony who plays direct, long ball football. 95% of his signings are english (half of whom aren't any good by the way) and are signed on the last day of transfer windows. the guy has no scouting network whatsoever.

apart from that i like him. :D

For awhile I thought you were talking about Rafa   Needed to reread.

You know what they will say its Rafa's fault even after hes gone.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Kenny Dalglish 1/2/2011

REST IN PEACE PHIL, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

From what I have heard from the rumour mill Gerrard, Torres, Mascherano and Carragher have lost faith in Benitez, so Benitez's departure might not start a mass exodus, though I can see Pepe Reina perhaps following him out of the door.
