If I was Rafa Benitez, I'd hold out for that £16m pay off. That is his money by right and he deserves every penny of it.

If that means Carragher, Gerrard and Torres leaving then so be it, but Rafa Benitez's contract should be honoured.

like this forum the club has been a total mess sometimes.

Rafa should never been given the contract he was given, the owners did not take the adive of ML and other when they gave him it, they had the idea that Giving Rafa the long contract would make the club a better buy.

His contract was only ever given to him like that as an aid for them to sell the club.

Lakes, Rafa hasn't gone anywhere yet. It's basically up to him to simply get on the phone and say "f*ck off, you c*nts" and hang up. Now, unless the yanks are willing to say "you're fired" then they'll onviously have to cough up 16 million to do so. Otherwise Rafa has them by the balls. Clever Rafa.

oh and whats going to happen then , we have a manager that knows the club dont wish to have him here and a manager that knows a lot of the players dont wish him here.

keep in mind there is a big chance that some of our toip players would have been asked how they would feel if Rafa was not to be here next year.

but we dpont know the ins and outs of his contract, there might be a cases that is says if he misses his targets he dont get the full amount....of if he is found to be seeking another job. both cases have happend, he is luck he will get anything in my view.

No Lakes the problem is last week the man was dancing on the fuc.k.ng stage with like minded reds , who believe in him. rightly or wrongly some of us think he is doing whats right for this club,   the man has tried  from the beginning in his own way to tell us whats been going on. The man has stood loyal to us ,he could of and should of fecked off long ago with all the sh.ite hes had to put up with, And yet the minute he goes on his holidays the club stab him in the back. by leaking a story. about a board meeting , when was the fecking last time we had a board meeting , There are snides at this club and they need to be outed big time, I feel saddend and ashamed to see my club conduct themselves in this way , I feel ashamed to see this man being treated likethis now,

Thats  the fu.cking problem , Liverpool football club need to hang there heads in shame the way they have conducted this whole matter,

talking to someone on another sire and they are saying Rafa was told at 9am on wed not to contact anyone about Liverpool business, at the same time blocks were put on pc's accounts that he might be able to use.

if that is true then there is not shock in what they are doing, its to make sure he dont take club info with him if or when he leaves.

Benitez knows his reign is over.  It is now all about the terms of the "divorce", with Inter waiting in the wings to offer him a few more million!!

The big fear now is how many players we might lose to Inter and/or Madrid.

I know I'm dreaming here, but I really hope we have a new manager waiting to come in quickly to avoid weeks of uncertainty where our best players can be tempted away.

I would hope none, i think the club are sacking Rafa to keep the big named players at the club.

Not at all, they are trying to force him out of the club as opposed to sacking him outright because they cannot afford/won't pay the £16m he is rightfully owned. He should settle for nothing less than what he is owed.

I am more than happy to suffer a little pain if it means that the Americans suffer more than I do. I will support this club through the thick and thin, I am here like you and everyone else for the good times and the bad times and if it means us dropping down the table or going into administration or plying our trade in the Championship then so be it. As long as the Americans are forced to sell us at a reasonable price then that's all I care about. Getting these owners out of our club should be the top priority, nevermind a change in manager or playing staff.

Whilst I have have felt Rafa does not deserve to stay on as manager from a purely footballing perspective I also felt that keeping him on gave us some protection from losing Stevie and Torres. I suspect the bids will come in for both players the moment Rafa leaves and I will be very surprised if the club turn them down. I only hope the club move for a manager with a bit of back-bone who would agree to come ONLY on the proviso that we keep our two best players (or at least Torres). I'd be inclined to go for Martin O'neil if i'm honest.

Of course that's the flip side of the coin and it would be interesting to know what Gerrard, Torres, Masch etc would feel about this situation. It ids entirely possible that Rafa leaving makes the likelihood of them staying (or wanting to stay) on all the more likely. It wouldn't surprise me if the thoughts of the players (about Rafa) have been transmitted to Dalglish via Stevie and Carra during the course of the season.

I just hope to god that Kenny has some say in what is happening and in what happens next because you could write what these kun...ts know about football on the back of a stamp.
