You could say Benitez was the best we'd had since the early 90s at the end of 08-09 but not at the end of 09-10 and overall by comparison with Evans and Houllier he's barely been any better.

i swear to god that some people don't even read a post before replying to it.

He's wrong because what he's saying is that people like myself are blinkered and won't cast a bad word on the manager for purely sentimental reasons. There's a massive difference between Souness' time in charge and what he did to that of Rafa's. It's got nothing to do with being "too close" to the club.

Spot on. Souness was a disaster, Rafa is the best we've had for 20 years.

Best what...?

what will say is that sometimes you can be too close to the club to see the truth, that happend to me during the Graeme Souness years, I would not have a bad word said about him.

Some are doing the same with Rafa.

Sorry, Lakes, but there are clear differences between the two era's. You're wrong.

no mate, at the FA cup final there was talk that he was going to be better than kenny from some fans.
on my 5hr trips to games almost all fans were saying that he was great....only in the last yer did some fans turn on him and a lot still stood by him when he left...untill they see what he left us with.

sad to say i was one of them

Big difference is even though we are going back to the early nineties he still had a bigger transfer budget than rafas had this past two seasons.

i have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

Sorry Andy, a try at humour. You complained how some people never read posts so i tried to be funny by misreading your post (area for eras). Next time I'll put a smiley to make it BLATENTLY OBVIOUS  :D   :;):

they say about Souness "but poor tactics, ill-judged transfer dealings and poor man management "

yes i can see the links with Rafa.

IMO, we should be getting rid of the people that want out and aren't prepared to fight for us.
That includes T+G, Albert Riera, Yossi and Mascherano.

In these tough times, we should be trying to keep the people that are prepared to fight.  Rafa is prepared to stay.  Criticize him all you want but we have bigger issues than a few poor substitutions.

We know Rafa hasn't been great in the transfer market but has he ever got his top targets?  i dont think so....

just so you know

Theres meant to be a report going around made by a liverpool player, in it he has a blast at Rafa, the players agent is trying to stop the report from going to press, the agent is saying they report has not been taken they way it was meant.

so if report hit the press in the next few days take it with a big pinch of salt.
