i don't think there is a general media based dislike of us though. right now we are soft targets because of our disastrous situation so there's plenty a good story there, especially as we were tipped to be doing better and a fixture in the 'big four'. but to be honest, i see just as many articles taking the píss out of the mancs, out of arsenal, out of portsmouth and just about every other team that opens up for it.

A well balanced view and I'd agree with that.  :nod

I agree....  and at no point did he come across as even remotely condescending or abusive (Maybe certain posters should follow his lead  ??? )

How can you agree, you said "simply put Liverpool are hated"

You are like a dog with a bone, just give it up and read back to see where the sarcasm and consendeing started. It think you'll find your very first post 'something about a colinder' initiated an immature (on your part discussion).I've gathered already you like seeking pity, but don't play the victim (again) acussing others of being rude first.

As I said, give it up it's bordering on tedious and I'll ensure to ignore your rhetoric.

You really need to get out and see the world

It's people like you who fuel the fire and feed the youngens with this pathetic mentality. Do yourself a favour and drag your knuckles into the 21st century.

:)

I am suggesting you actually take the time to attend a match instead of gleaming what little knowledge you can gather from people in pubs   It might even be an idea seen as your this hardened traveller to choose pubs nearer in geographical proximity to Anfield (just a thought like )
I would like to also add I have seen most of Europe in my time supporting Liverpool ,plus given my profession I have been fortunate to travel worldwide ,and it must be said I have visited places the length and breadth of Britain ... but and this is what appears to be the crux of our little debate "I have formed my opinion on the hateful bile that spews forth from the uneducated mouths of opposing fans " ...... not from forming an uneducated

I may have tinged my post in sarcasm ,but I don't think I was abusive where as yours my short sighted friend was ,I will end with something for your enquiring young mind to consider
Maybe its time you got your obviously well manicured hands and grazed your knuckles a wee bit ........ you never know you might develop a sympathy for the people who  have to fight for what they believe in "Instead of just biting your stiff upper lip "
Do us a favour save it for your wine and cheese parties

what will say is that sometimes you can be too close to the club to see the truth, that happend to me during the Graeme Souness years, I would not have a bad word said about him.

Some are doing the same with Rafa.

Sorry, Lakes, but there are clear differences between the two era's. You're wrong.

what the feck is he wrong about?? he's saying that during the souness years he wouldn't or couldn't hear anything bad said because he felt too close to the club? how can he be wrong about expressing a personal feeling? and what's it got to do with different eras?

i swear to god that some people don't even read a post before replying to it.

It would help to smooth discussion a bit if instead of highlighting the self-evident that "yesterday is clearly different to today", people at least sum up what those differences are and how they bear out the point you're attempting to make. Not all the time and not necessarily a full explanation, but more often than not and with enough substance to support your point and to enable your interlocutor a stab at forming a meaningful reply.

He's wrong because what he's saying is that people like myself are blinkered and won't cast a bad word on the manager for purely sentimental reasons. There's a massive difference between Souness' time in charge and what he did to that of Rafa's. It's got nothing to do with being "too close" to the club.

Spot on. Souness was a disaster, Rafa is the best we've had for 20 years.
