I expect rafa to inter rumours to surface soon like
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

So it's offical now that Aquilani has been recognised as a failure and the money is wasted ?

Also Lakes is appears according to friends our in Italy that he stories of Rafa over there is just media and it appears they are already looking towards Mihailjovic as new manager

Anybody know what the following  names all have in common :
David Villa
Sergio Aguero
James Milner
Aarron  Ramsey
Daniel Alves
Diego Milito
Gabriel Milito
Jesus Navas
Theo Walcott
Sergio Ramos
All players who at the time where unknown quantities ,so where considered too greater risk for the Liverpool board ,I surely don't need to remind people of their standing in world football now ................... people talk about having an eye for a player and how easy it can be when your allowed the finance to procure the very best ..........Well  Benitez hasn't been afforded the trust or the backing to do neither , and when on that very rare occasion he is allowed to do so the quality we have bought speaks volumes ....
Torres
Mascherano
Alonso
Agger
All top drawer players bought by Benitez when his hands weren't forced into the bargain bin  ???

Reina on Torres and Rafa:

Torres has been linked with a move away from Liverpool after the club's poor campaign, with Chelsea and Barcelona supposedly in the running for the Spain international's services.

But Reina spoke to his compatriot this week and claims Torres is committed to turning the club's fortunes around.

"I am calm about Fernando," Reina told the People. "I spoke to him about his future and he has told me that he intends to continue with us.

"Fernando suffered so many blows last season, but he is a professional and has always wanted to do well for us.

"That is what he remains - committed to this club."

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has also been strongly linked with a move away from the club this summer, with Inter Milan a possible destination, but Reina is equally convinced his manager will stay put.

"I am convinced that Rafa will still be with us and that is good for us because he wants revenge in the next campaign," he said.

If Rafa does leave, I certainly won't hold it against him, I think a move to Inter Milan will be a great opportunity for Benitez and the board will back him 100% and if he does leave, I can see Fernando Torres going with him.

If I was Benitez I would take the position of Inter manager, if it was offered to me.

Add Simao and Vidic to that list too. Spot on though, I find it funny that people are critical of Rafa's transfer record when most of the time he has had to shop at bottom of the pile. It's gotten so bad that over the last few years there are at least 2 to 3 freebie players in the squad too. Voronin, Degan, kyrgiakos... and now this Jovanovich.

And people wonder why we have slipped behind the rest.  :glare:

David Luiz is another Bav, countless players earmarked by Benitez only for a club who are not afraid to trust their manager  snatch them away ...... so sad  really :(   he must be one frustrated man    :(
