I realise as fans everyone is entitled to an opinion but most of you spent pretty much all of last season ramming it down our throat. The season is over and we are soon going to be headed into a new one with probably the same manager. Are you going to continue with this nonsense waiting to say 'I told you so' or are you going to put that aside and get behind the manager.

And Mick you say this place is devoid of football talk? Is that a :censored: joke mate? No one wants to talk football here these days because it's all anti rafa rafa rafa. It's boring mate, leave it alone now.

Mods can you just lock this topic and shut down any newley created Rafa topics until the world cup starts? I don't think anyone is gaining anything from this thread except a headache.

question to all the 'pros'. what exactly do you hope to achieve by this continuous affirmation about how rafa is the right man for the job?

and a bonus question. why exactly is it that the 'pros' always feel so hard done by?

Spain job appeals for the future - Benitez

Rafael Benitez admits it is his dream to one day coach the Spanish national team but has reiterated his immediate future lies at Liverpool.

Benitez has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer, with Inter Milan the latest club to be linked to the 50-year-old, although that rumour was dismissed by the Serie A champions on Wednesday morning.

Juventus were also believed to be courting Benitez but the Turin giants are set to unveil Luigi Del Neri as their new coach this week, and the Spaniard insists he is some years away from leaving Merseyside.

"Right now I have four years left in my contract with Liverpool and I am very happy there," Benitez said in quotes reported on www.as.com.

"But, of course, in a few years, once [Spain coach Vicente] Del Bosque ends his work, I would like to be Spain coach.

"All of the Spanish coaches would like in the future to become national team manager."

Benitez believes Spain striker Fernando Torres, who is currently in a race against time to be fit for the World Cup after a knee operation, has no intention of leaving Liverpool amid rumours of interest from Barclays Premier League champions Chelsea.

"I am not aware that Torres wants to leave," said Benitez.

"Now he is only focusing on recovering and going to the World Cup, only then will he think about his future."

Benitez added that Torres' importance to Liverpool goes far beyond his actions on the pitch, saying: "Torres has multiplied the Liverpool image in Asia because all the women there are crazy about him."

The Liverpool boss also hit back at his critics following the Reds' disappointing seventh-placed league finish and early exit from the Champions League last season.

Benitez claims he is a victim of his own success after guiding the club to glory in the Champions League, FA Cup, European Super Cup and Community Shield in his first two years in the role.

"My critics in London say that I am not a good manager but they forget many details," he said. "Liverpool has averaged 69 points in the last 12 seasons.

"We made a huge mistake, as we won four titles at the start. Then people ask you for more, when in reality in the Premier League it's assumed that at the start a coach needs time to adapt.

"(Manchester United manager Sir Alex) Ferguson took seven years to win the Premier League."

There is no continious ammfirmation as you put it. If anything I am just looking forward to getting in some new players and next season, if that's considered continious affirmation then you can :censored: off.

Yeah I reckon he will give us another season. But we shouldn't risk it, once a player makes up his mind it's hard to go back. We need a big summer in terms of spending. Heres hoping anyway...

Lakes you arnt really going to assume to give man managment advice to someone who has been 2 European Cup finals and won 1 are you?  :D

dear God Lakes you read too much into every sentence Rafa says
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Bav my fear is that if he stays it would only take a few games that we dont win at the start of the season for the rest of the fans to turn on him, they the club would sack him, this would leave us with a new manager building a team during the season after the window has shut.

If there is any chance that the club are going to sack him then they should do it now and put the new manager in now so he can be the one to get the team ready for the new season.

I thought the club didn't have the money to sack him. So how would they have gotten the money together for a few games into next season, and this also be after we have potentially bought players? Doesn't really fit does it?

The players need to take a lot of blame too. They get paid enough and they should not need motivation to put on this shirt.

Are you going to continue with this nonsense waiting to say 'I told you so' or are you going to put that aside and get behind the manager.

What I hope to achieve is that he'll resign and take his one-dimensional, unadventerous football and bore fans of some other unfortunate team he winds up at.

I'm not an 'I told you so' kind of guy but I will continue to shoot this guy down when he deserves it.

I will always support the club, but some are confusing supporting the club and getting behind the manager. Edward Abbey once said that a true patriot is willing to defend his country against its government. Same applies here. I will continue to critisice the manager because his brand of football is slowly killing the club. Does anyone enjoy watching us play anymore?

I will support Rafa Benitez if he does the following...

Encourage his players to play football, the way we all want them to play, the way they want to play, the reason Rafa fell in love with the sport when he was a kid: with freedom, encouragement, creativity, inventivness, skill, heart and ambition.

Until then, I will continue to believe that this man is poison to Liverpool and football.

I wouldn't be happy if he tried this and results didn't go our way - what fan would? - but I would support him and defend him and then he can hold his hands up and say, "Well we gave it the best shot we could by playing football the way it's supposed to be played."
AND HERE COMES AVI COHEN!! OH I SAY - AT THE SAME END HE'S GOT ONE BACK!!!!!!!!!!

The problem is so many are just waiting for him to fail so they can get on his back even more. Everyone needs to just hope we manage to bring in some better players this summer. Only then will we have a better chance of getting back into the top 4 next season.
