again mate , it has been known for a long time that gerrard and torres have been unhappy with Rafa.
a long time ago there were members on here say that if Rafa left then we would also see our best players go, that has never been the case, oour big names have been unhappy with the manager for sometime, but when some members pointed this out they just got shouted down by the pro Rafa lot.

In our last EL game there was a few reports that gerrard and JC had a big bust up with Rafa at half time over the way he asked them to play in the 2nd half, it was said they both walked out of the room and stood outside them walked out onto the field.

I did not think much of the report at the time as i was sure if this had happend the TV would have shown them two out before the rest of the team, but now some members on here have stated that they both did come out well before the rest of the team, around 5mins before the rest.

Sammy lee was the first person to have a bust up with Rafa over not picking Torres when he was fit. you got to look back at all this stuff to see why some of our big players dont think they can work under Rafa anymore.

Rafa needs to be sorted NOW, if we have any chance in keeping our best players,

If he stays and i hope he dont then he needs to be a joint manager with someone like Kenny.

someone that is strong but can also talk to the players.

Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard told to think twice before rejecting chance to ‘make history’

Roberto Mancini has thrown down the gauntlet to Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard and other potential signings by warning them not to make a “big mistake” by shunning Manchester City if the club are unable to offer them Champions League football next season.

The City manager has urged his players to “change the club’s history” by beating Tottenham Hotspur to the coveted fourth spot in the Barclays Premier League. But the Italian believes that even if they lose out in the frantic battle for a seat at the high table of European football, prospective world-class signings should not be deterred from joining them.

Mancini is confident that City will be challenging for the Premier League title next season and wants potential targets to look beyond the short term when deciding their futures. Torres and Gerrard, the Liverpool players, are on that list, but the Spain forward will have many suitors across Europe this summer. Closer to home, Chelsea were reported to have already held discussions over a British record transfer fee of £70 million.

“If we do finish fourth we will have a good chance of getting two or three really good players for next season,” Mancini said. “But I think it will be a big mistake from players if they don’t want to come here if we don’t finish fourth because in the future Manchester City will be a fantastic team.

“We have a chance to make history. We have worked very hard for this and that is a good thing. We want to change the history of the club. When Sheikh [Mansour] bought the club I think he wanted to change its history and the future. We also want to achieve this.

“Being in the Champions League would allow us to progress. It is important for the club and everyone here. But we must not be nervous and I don’t think the players are. ”

Although fourth spot will guarantee City or Tottenham only a place in the Champions League qualifying rounds, either club will stand to earn at least £20 million if they get through to the group stage of the competition.

With Tottenham, who are one point ahead of City in the table, facing a fixture away to Burnley on the final day of the season on Sunday that they should win, Mancini knows his team must succeed tonight if they are to retain a good chance of finishing fourth. Gareth Barry, the England midfield player, may return from a hamstring injury for City, although there were thought to be some concerns over the fitness of Carlos Tévez last night.

There were suggestions that the Argentina forward, City’s leading scorer this season with 29 goals, suffered a leg injury in training yesterday, although it was unclear whether it would affect his involvement in the game.

“This game will probably decide where we finish this season,” Mancini said. “If we win we have probably a 70 to 80 per cent of getting fourth. Of course, after that, we must also play a difficult game in London against West Ham United, but against Spurs, I do feel as though we can change our history. So we must be positive.

“I can see how much people here want this. I would like all the people who work here to leave with a good feeling. I like this situation.”

Mancini was reluctant to discuss his future — “My future does not come down to this game. It’s not important what happens with me,” he said — and added that Mark Hughes, his predecessor, would deserve “50 per cent of the credit” if City finished fourth.

Mate, I don't want to be difficult and all of that but where is the proof in all of this? If the senior and local players like Stevie and carra have this much of a problem with the manager ( and now torres) surely this manager wouldn't want to stay. Especially if he has somewhere else to feck off to. Imagine if these key players are not happy, the other players like Reina and mash wouldn't be happy with the manager as well and they wouldn't have renewed their contracts. Why is rafa so successful in renewing contracts if the players are up in arms about how he makes the team play. It's all not gelling properly, the stories. And someone out there is bullshitting abit too much.

no shock there mate, that what happens when you have a manager that makes the players unhappy and buys a team they can not see winning the prem.
