Yeah but you miss the whole point of the impact this is having on the club. We used to be the butt of jokes, then we became the laughing stock of the premier league and now we are imploding.

No other senior club has ever gone through what we´re going through, we´re imploding.[/quote]
Leeds might have a bit of an argument there Reg. Not as big a club but they imploded with much more style and panache.

If we have a scenario where Rafa stays and say Torres and possibly Gerrard go for £90mill, say Rafa has a warchest of £60mill to spend, does anyone honestly trust him to bring in the right players to turn the club around. He may well go out and by 4 or five good players but ask yourself.

1. Would they play or be on the bench
2. Would we still see, Lucas and Kuyt playing week in week out.
3. Can Rafa change his tactics or would we still see the defensive formations as seen this season

To be honest I just do not trust Rafa with getting the right players in that we need, he spent £38mill this season and we ended up not even treading water but going backwards disastrously

if this really is true, that gerrard and torres will do one if benitez stays then there is only one reasonable option (apart from calling gerrard and torres a pair of sulking primadonnas). benitez absolutely has to go for the good of the club, and if he is aware of this possibility then he has to fall on his own sword for the good of the club. the thought of a rafa benitez led liverpool without the aid of the only two players capable of getting results despite his tactics is unbearable.

I really cant imagine how we are going to perform without Torres scoring some individual/out of nothing goals that won us games.

Ironically we won the champions league with Houllier's team, now Rafa has rebuilt we won bugger all.

As for the striker crisis, we coped before - we'll cope again. Especially if we are £70m better off. Not that I want it that way of course.

I don't know why managers and players bother signing contracts anymore, since they'll moan like babies as soon as things don't suit them anyway. Heaven forbid they accept their obscenely high wages and just see out their contracts to the best of their ability.

Dont anyone find it strange that Rafas agent has now said Rafa is happy to stay at Liverpool on the same day that the news comes out that Juventus have pulled out of talks with his agent???

If they feel like that, its not about sulking for me.
Its about players knowing that the club is likely to go nowhere fast and maybe if this is true, trying to force the boards hand to push the button.

What are you on about??

They´re under contract.
Pronunciation: \kän-trakt\
Function: noun

1 a : a binding agreement between two or more persons or parties; especially : one legally enforceable b : a business arrangement for the supply of goods or services at a fixed price <make parts on contract> c : the act of marriage or an agreement to marry

If Juve have lost interest in Rafa it could be because the owners need Rafa´s asset value to sell the club and have decided to legally enforce their rights under the contract hence Juve have no chance.

Ditto SG and FT.

This isnt Benidorm fruit and veg market mate.

Reg, i wasnt disagreeing with the fact that they are under contracts they signed.
I agree that they are sort of pointless.

But i dont think that IF Gerrard and Torres have stated they would look at leaving if we still have Rafa in charge next season, that they are whinging babies.
I think they are standing up for their beliefs that the club is going to suffer if something isnt done about the managerial position.

I am not one that thinks player power is a good thing, far from it.

But its bleeding obvious to anyone that he has been a main reason we have plummetted so rapidly this season.

Highly doubtful as Rafa has yet to speak to the chairman. From what I have read Juve have lost interest because someone new has taken over at the top, and not only does he think that Rafa has been dragging things out , but that he thinks they would be paying too much for him. The position offered seems to have been reduced from Manager to Coach and they are already looking elsewhere as their patience is running out.

No doubt Rafa and his friends will start fresh rumours about Madrid soon .....just to keep things interesting.

BTW anyone else getting a little suspicious of all the players talking about Pepe being our next Captain...... almost as if Gerrard might not be here quite as long as we expected?

FFS why wasn't something done about Benitez 3 months ago when it was clear we were under severe pressure to get the champions league spot........way too much blind optimism------- we all know how hard it was to break into the champions league position under Houllier all them years ago.............im hoping for a Spurs victory tonight but if City win then competing will be so much harder- what pisses me off even more is that Mancini is making city twice as classy as Chelsea under Mourinho- the man comes across as a class act-----

Benitez needs to take a good long look at himself before he takes another job- he has :censored: it up himself by removing himself so much from players / playing them out of position/ not giving enough credit publicly when deserved/ :censored: the other managers off- he created a siege mentality but he is fighting by himself by the looks of it
