TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR VS LIVERPOOL - August 16th, 16:00 ko (day1)

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby Effes » Fri Aug 14, 2009 6:52 pm

BBC reckons Spurs back four will be:

Hutton, Corluka, King, Assou-Ekotto

Sky reckon:

Corluka, Bassong, King, Assou-Ekotto

Either way - Im not too impressed with that.

We should go at them on Sunday, put them under pressure and play further up the field
like we did against Man U.

Matt McQueen - Liverpool 1892-1928.
Only professional to - play in goal (41 appearances), Defence, Midfield, Striker, and later be Director and then to be Manager (winning a Championship) - at one club

reminds me of kuyt at goodison a couple of seasons back  :D

That was a crazy game. So much emotion when Kuyt scored that first pen and then Carra at the end. Masch was going crazy too. And then Moyes at the end when they should have had a pen.

Brilliant game though, one of my favourate derbys of recent times.

Voronin may be a lot of people's idea of a good scapegoat and player to knock, but he scored home AND away against spudz in 06/07...........................................

Goals vs spudz (for Liverpool)

Torres 3 goals in 4 apps
Voronin 2 goals in 2 apps
Kuyt 2 goals in 6 apps
Benayoun 1 goal in 4 apps
Gerrard 0 goals in 9 apps (under Rafa)

Only a few selected, but Torres, Voronin and Kuyt are the ones to put your ££££ on (then again Rafa is probably unaware Voronin scored home and away so I'd only back him if odds are long)

We scored six goals in three games against spudz last season, may have lost two out of three but we also knocked EIGHT past Newcastle so we just need to make sure our defence is solid

I heard or read we've lost only one in our last 10 league games against spudz, under Rafa at WHL in the league our record is decent, but compare it with the Champions in the same period

Tottenham away 04/05-08/09

Liverpool P5 W2 D2 L1 F5 A3 PTS 8 (out of 15)
Champions P5 W3 D2 L0 F9 A1 PTS 11 (out of 15)

Just that bit more ruthless, a point may seem a decent result from WHL but you don't settle for points at those kind of grounds if you want to win league titles ie too many "decent results" maketh champions not.

anyone finally getting fcking excited about the new season...

i think Redknapp is a brilliant manager.. Tottenham could very well end up 6th in the league behind mancity ahead of Everton...

but still.. with Torres and Gerrard we'll beat them...

Fair play to Arsenal that was a great result.

Well if United win tomorrow (which they will) the pressure is on us straight away as all the big teams have won. In a way I think this will help us as even though it is early in the season we dont want to be playing catch up already and I reckon we will be well up for it
