I reckon we're gonna struggle a bit this season.

really want a 0-2 (Torres 2) but this could be a 0-0 bore draw

Spurs had a pretty good result the other day. Looks like Pavluychenko is starting to finally settle down, bit ominous for us though, seeing as he turned us over down there last year.....
Nothing that a good stiff uppercut from Stevie G wouldn't sort though... ???

Disappointing pre-season, whether they are friendlies or not it's always good to get a winning mentality early and build up some momentum going into the season. Spurs have done this with winning the Premiership Asia trophy thing and a 3-0 win over Olympiacos yesterday.

But still they don't have a fit centre half so we should get at them from the off. Put the s***s up them from the off and get the early goal. We'll have to watch their forward line of Keane, Defoe and Crouch but we're still better than them.

My team

               Reina
Johnno Carra Kelly Insua
          Lucas Masch
Dirk        Stevie     Yossi
             Nando

Scoreline - Reds win 3-1.

Will agree on that starting line up if agger is not fit - if he is then him next to carra - will go for a 2 nil with goals from Kuyt and Torres .

Team pretty much picks itself, largely formed by injuries to player who could have been in contention to start.  How much money on Bable coming on between 60 and 65 Minutes to replace Yossi ?
Could be a bit of an early season grudge match with Keane, and Crouch having a bit to prove.
I'm not at all convinced by our pre-season form, not that it counts for much.
We badly need JC fit, but I think a bit of Torres/Gerrard magic in either half should see us win it 2-0.  Not that we'll play them off the park, but they are really weak at the back.

Bassong available for starting fixture

Tottenham Hotspur were relieved to discover today that Sebastien Bassong, the defender signed from Newcastle United last week in a deal reportedly worth somewhere close to £8 million, will be available for the Londoners' season opening game against Liverpool at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Bassong had been handed a two-game suspension after being sent off whilst playing for the Magpies against Fulham last May, which some thought might preclude him from selection for his new club's Premier League curtain raiser.

However, Spurs' official website confirms that as the player served the first match of the ban on the last day of last season, the suspension would continue to apply to Newcastle fixtures.

As he did not turn out for the Toon on Saturday in the Championship opener with West Bromwich Albion, the second part of the ban was fulfilled, and Bassong is therefore now eligible to line up against Rafa Benitez's men at the weekend.

Stevie has been pulled out of the England squad. Hopefully he will be ok for the Spurs game.

Gawd your not knocking the Noila cup, that's what dreams are made of DD

2-0 to us, funny enough the first thing that came into my head when I heard we were playing Spurs first up. Was its the same fixture a few seasons ago when Cisse scored on his debut, no idea why

No matter who plays in defense, Crouch will rape them in the air.

This will not be an easy victory.
