SUNDERLAND VS LIVERPOOL - Sunday 20th march 13.30pm ko

Liverpool Football Club - Games

I think what will probably end up happening is Carroll and Suarez will be up top with each other, Raul right behind him, Kuyt pushed back next to Lucas and maxi on the left.  But I could actually buy that formation.. Could see it happen.

Without gerrard we just look devoid of any creativity. Sure suarez and carroll are fine up top, but the CM and wing positions just look sad.

If meireles is off key we are stuffed

Still i think we could grab a 1-0

I really hope we get a positive result today, we need a win to keep up with Spurs. I still think we can nick a europa spot.

The Reds XI in full is: Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Agger, Skrtel, Spearing, Lucas, Meireles, Suarez, Kuyt, Carroll. Subs: Gulacsi, Kyrgiakos, Wilson, Cole, Maxi, Poulsen, Ngog.

Is there anyone here that understands why Skertel starts before the Greek?

because they have no height?

anyways Suarez and Carroll in the same team!!! :)

Spearing and Lucas as a midfield pairing doesnt fill me with confidence tho

Was coming on this thread to post the same thing mate,
Spearing and lucas in central midfield doesn't exactly fill me with confidence, can hardly see any of them dictating the flow of the game or putting their stamp on it.

We defo need to sort our midfield out this summer.

Not feeling great about this myself tbh. Not after the insipid performance we put up against Braga. Hope my feelings are quickly put to bed with what's hopefully gonna be the start of a great striker partnership. C'mon red men! Still gonna plump for a draw though!

Spearing might seem an odd choice, but he's got LFC in his veins of course, and looks like a bulldog. I'd guess he's there to break up play in the middle along with Lucas. That dosen't bode well, because that suggests to me we'll be bypassing our midfield when we're attacking..which of course means lumping it up to Carroll from the back and hoping for knock-downs for the others. Suarez may drop back though. He looks like he likes a more freerole and he has the qualities to do it.

At least Sunderland don't have any beachballs on the bench....
