Here is JK's pre match press conference

After the jubilation still fresh in our minds after the taking out of the scum, away at Southampton is not the most pleasant of fixtures to follow it

Koeman will have the saints well drilled and organised in readyness for us

I think Flanno will be back in the team, possibly at left back, I would start Origi and leave Sturridge on the bench

Much of the team picks itself tbh, although Henderson still has a vomitting virus (reason for him coming off against the scum) so will have to wait on him

Let's try to push on now and get as close to the to 4 as we can

3 hard fought points please

Everton could do us a favour tomorrow, if they beat Arsenal that would leave us 8 points behind the gunners but with 2 games in hand, it's game on then!
We could do with Chelsea taking some points off West Ham too.

Just talking in big "If's" but If, City beat the scum by 2 clear goals and we manage somehow to beat the Saints by 2 clear goals we will be ahead of the scum by then end of the weekend

It is a tall ask, everything needs to fall in our favour but not totally unrealistic  :eyebrow

I'd prefer a draw between the mancs, that would lead us to 4 points below top 4 with us having a game in hand.

None of that math stuff will matter if we don't show up for this game though, or for all the rest of the games for that matter. A win at Southampton and we make a statement.

BREAKING NEWS - Roberto Firmino cut from Brazil's squad due to injury. Benfica striker Jonas replaces him.

Based on that news, i would start with Origi and Sturridge in a diamond formation

I agree. A manc draw and we could close the gap on both.
This will be one of the toughest matches of the season by far, due to the physical / mental stain that the lads have had to live up to over the past 10 days or so. I just hope that all the BS critical online analysis of how 'poor' we are doesn't occur if we were to lose tomorrow.
The lads (current squad) have done well just to keep this season alive, and will do so now through to April at least.
Keep on keeping on..!

I wonder in fact whether this is a tactical injury to get him out of the Brazil game as we have a heavy schedule of key games?

I've just read Flanagan will be captain of the team today?
