That doesn't look to bad actually. But knowing Rafa he will just leave out Spearing and play Masch and Lucas in the middle. I would give NGog a run out in this game too.

F**king bollox. Just heard on Talksport that both Torres and Gerrard are definately out of tomorrow' game. May be out of the next few games if their groin injury doesn't heal quickly.

I am worried about this game, especially as Sunderland played really well against Mwancker Utd and we're without our 2 tallisman.`Having said that, we have won games without them in the past.......

hopefully this is a chance for some players to show what they can do. It'll be nice to see Babel get 90 mins and Yossi starting. Kuyt will get hs chance to play up top n all which he hasn't done too badly (he didnt when called upon last season anyway)

wasn't Torres on the bench for Spain on Wednesday?  ???

Back then we at least had Xabi in the middle though :(. This will definitely be a really stern test for us now (well, an even sterner test than before anyways), but hopefully some of the players on the cusp of the first eleven will seize their chance. Am not confident at all though I must admit

This will either make or break our season, maybe I'm just being melodramatic

Either way I'm backing whichever eleven that walks out on that pitch tomorrow to do us proud

We simply must win this game or we'll have a mountain to climb to just challenge for the title, never mind win it.

We should be good enough to beat Sunderland without G&T, no excuses.

I believe we can still win. Now don't get me wrong i'm quite anxious at how we'll perform at Sunderland and would love Aquilani to come off the bench. But this could be a blessing in disguise. We may well see players like Babel step it up and perform one of there best game and take charge. Voronin or N'gog might very well score. But our players have to show that we're more just a team of 2 players regardless of how good Gerrard and Torres are our players have to perform and prove to the fickwit pundits that we can still win games without Gerrard and Torres. So chins up lads and let's see what our players can give. I'm hoping for Lucas,Babel etc to step up and show us why we bought them and consistently stayed persistent sticking with them. They owe us a win here not just a win for the club or the fans but the for countless times Gerrard or Torres has saved our very sorry asses, so they owe a win to Gerrard and Torres. And hopefully they can prove everyone wrong that we can win without Gerrard and Torres.

you can just see the "2 man team" garbage being trotted out by the media if we get beat. ssn has been creaming itself silly over the news all afternoon where as the news that shrek and berbatov are out for united doesn't matter because they have more "proven matchwinners all over the" oh wait...

Our odds of winning this game have seriously tumbled with Gerrard and Torres out.  Sunderland are good at home too and are scoring goals.

In a one off game though we can still win.  Without our two best players for any period of time and our league challenge is finished.

Have to admit, im not confident of our chances tomorrow. Any return will be more than welcome. Ffs - this season is turning out to be extremely frustrating, all things accounted.
