Gerrard injury will be assessed over the next 24 hours. Allen and Lallana both out of contention and Sterling back in training tomorrow.

Sturridge back by the end of the month.

Three Aston Villa CB's are all out of our match - Vlaar, Clark and Senderos.

Mark Clattenburg will referee.

I would go same team that played V Sunderland except Balotelli for Borini and Lovren for Gerrard

keeping the 3-4-3 system

Gerrard will apparently miss this one.

Should really beat these, they're in poor form and they have a few injured as well. We'll have a fresh Sterling back too. This is what I'd go for:

                                    Mignolet

                           Can     Skrtel    Sakho

            Manquillo      Lucas   Hendo       Moreno

                         Markovic      Coutinho

                                   Sterling

I'd go with this line up -

                             Mingolet

              Can           Skrtel          Sakho

Markovic          Hendo       Lucas            Moreno

                    Balotelli       Coutinho

                             Sterling

Balotelli is a waste of space, even on the bench. Push comes to shove Borini gets in before the clown just for effort and willingness to run.

Mario is good at holding the ball up and bringing others into play, that role behind the main striker may just suit him, besides whenever he gets on the pitch he looks more of a threat than Borini.
I'd like to see him given more of a chance, he's a far better footballer than Borini and Lambert put together and the few games he got earlier on in the season were when Gerrard was playing DM and as a result the whole team looked a shambles.
Even then he was by no means the worst performer, others performed a lot worse than him and kept their place in the team (i.e Gerrard, Lovren, Henderson etc)

Mignolet – Emre Can, Škrtel, Sakho – Marković, Henderson, Lucas, Moreno – Sterling, Coutinho – Borini. Based on today's training session.

Borini shouldn't be anywhere near the squad, let alone the first 11.
