Liverpool v Brighton - Saturday 1st October - 3pm

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby Eagle » Wed Sep 28, 2022 4:59 pm

With the international break over we now have 6 weeks of uninterpreted club football with 13 games to squeeze in before the World Cup. This starts with Brighton at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

Since their last match Brighton have lost Graham Potter and replaced him with 43-year-old Italian Roberto De Zerbi who led Shakhtar Donetsk to the title in Ukraine before resigning as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Saturday will be his first game in charge so wouldn't surprise me to see them pumped up and ready to impress. They have some decent players with the likes of Groß, Trossard, and Mac Allister.

Our last league fixture was played on 3 September in a low quality 0-0 at Goodison Park. The game against Ajax represented a big improvement on recent performances so hopefully we can use that as our base. Thiago returned to the starting line-up in that game and made a big difference. Henderson returned over the international break. Konate and Robertson were also penciled in for a return to training during or soon after the international break. We should get more info on who is available during Klopp’s pre-match press conference on Friday.

I wanna see Nunez have a good run of games try and get his confidence up. Bringing him on the last 15 mins of matches just adds pressure to him. Strikers are judged on Goals to games.. and him coming on for 15 mins counts as a game.

Yes, we need to see him play regularly and get into a groove and I’d like to see the different combinations with Firmino, Jota and Salah. When he played against us I remember his success coming from the wide role so he can play different roles. To be fair so far that I’ve seen the best header of the ball is Jota, until Nunes proves me wrong anyway.

I m sure I read somewhere that Nunez scored for Uruguay during the international break, that should help his confidence a bit.

What a mess.. trent at fault for both goals. His confidence clearly knocked with the England fiasco.

I'm starting to doubt even top 4 this season :-(
I'm sorry, but I'm not convinced by Carvalho and Elliot. They're not close to the stability of players like Gini...

This sucks big time and having all that rest made no difference at all. Look as bad as we ever did here.

It's the system imo. We are way to obvious and getting picked off very easy on the counter.

Goal from Bobby so back in it now
