With the international break over we now have 6 weeks of uninterpreted club football with 13 games to squeeze in before the World Cup. This starts with Brighton at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
Since their last match Brighton have lost Graham Potter and replaced him with 43-year-old Italian Roberto De Zerbi who led Shakhtar Donetsk to the title in Ukraine before resigning as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Saturday will be his first game in charge so wouldn't surprise me to see them pumped up and ready to impress. They have some decent players with the likes of Groß, Trossard, and Mac Allister.
Our last league fixture was played on 3 September in a low quality 0-0 at Goodison Park. The game against Ajax represented a big improvement on recent performances so hopefully we can use that as our base. Thiago returned to the starting line-up in that game and made a big difference. Henderson returned over the international break. Konate and Robertson were also penciled in for a return to training during or soon after the international break. We should get more info on who is available during Klopp’s pre-match press conference on Friday.
