Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby ycsatbjywtbiastkamb » Thu Feb 18, 2021 8:03 pm

It goes without saying just how important this game is, it’s the biggest game of our season by far, not because it’s a derby game but because we are languishing in 6th, we are coming off 3 straight losses and with only 14 games to go we can’t afford to lose any more ground.
Lose this and I’m not sure we’ll be able to bounce back psychologically, I think top 4 will be gone.

3 points is a must like ever, I'm not to worried about Everton for UCL spot. It is Chelsea who are the concern, we can't let a gap build between us and Chelsea.

The reds will be fired up for this after the catastrophe of the first game. Hopefully the bitters will be very cautious after the problems caused in the last game.

There’s some talk that Alisson and Fabinho will miss this game, hope it’s not true.

Need Alli there at least, didn't think Fabiniho would be back yet.

I think tomorrow’s game will probably hinge on how we deal with Calvert-Lewin’s aerial threat, once Virgil went off at Goodison it was heart in mouth time every time the ball was pumped into our box. There wasn’t much we could have done to prevent his goal, It’s not just the fact he’s tall, he leaps like a stag too.
They will be going down like 9 pins in our half looking for free kicks and dead ball situations so we need to use our loaves.

Might be more physical than normal after what happened at Goodison Park. Bit of a throwback. Wouldn't be surprised if Pickford sits on the bench as we will definitely go after him.

Someone or few will see red tomorrow and I wouldn't be surprised if it's Thiago from our side.

Dunno if Naby is ready to go straight back in but I'd be inclined to start him ahead of Thiago tomorrow

Apparently Kabak is particularly good in the air

He seemed to handle himself quite well vs Leipzig...

edit: 2 points dropped by chelsea, so a good opportunity here to gain some ground...

I'm going 3-1 (Mo x2, Mane)

He’ll need to be. No doubt Everton will see our CB partnership as a potential Achilles Heel, i’ll be astonished if they don’t go long. It’s breezy as hell here as well which won’t help defenders and keepers judge the flight of the ball.
We’ll need to compete today.

Worried about Thiago's lack of tackling ability in a game like this
