Well I'm happy.  Wasn't the best performance, but I do feel we deserved the 3 points.  Even tho that wasn't a pen, it was still a yellow card.  He still took Spearing down from behind when he was charging into the box and that is a very difficult decision for the sideline to make because of the position he was in and the position Bramble stood between Spearing and the ref.  But it's still a yellow and Mensah still gets sent of when he takes down Suarez at the end.  That's a clear-cut red card, no questions asked.

Not to mention, Suarez scored the second goal before they went down a man and there was nothing wrong with Suarez's goal.  So I don't want to hear anybody complaining about us getting lucky, we would have  won 1-0 anyway, so this isn't revenge for the beach ball incident, it's us winning 2-0 instead of 1-0.

Besides, with Suarez's crazy freekicks, who says he wouldn't have buried that in the corner when we had the pen anyway? :D

Agreed. A bit more quality in midfield and on the wings and we will be flying. Suarez looks to be the real deal and Carroll was unlucky not to score today too.

Good times ahead if we can get in the right players in the summer.

Carroll looked really lively in the second half, promising

There's always a lot of talk about refs not listening to their assistants, the case in the 1st half is one where he did and was wrong.  It's probably why you don't see more of it.  If he ref had called it himself it would have been a free not a pen.

It was an ugly match but probably by design.  We looked solid at the back and even when they got into dangerous positions, they couldn't do much.

Saurez MOM - Merieles looked less than his usual, played a bit out of position probably to make room for Spearing.

It was clear that the Sunderland front line were frustrated and Gyan tried to con the ref late on.  Three big points puts in an outside chance for fourth and fifth is now a real possibility. :buttrock

Glad Suarez got a 2nd goal and we proved that we would have won without the pen anyway. To be fair I feel sorry for Sunderland for the ref's blunder. But then, that is the cruel reality of football matches. The ref's blunder can be for you or against you. Luck has not been on our side this season but today it's our turn to have it.

Well done King Kenny for another golden 3 pts and with J.Henry watching, I hope he will give Kenny a 5 yr contract. But I don't blame him if Kenny is only given a 2 yr because our last 2 gaffers were terminated before their contracts expire and millions were wasted in compensation and Henry being a smart businessman I'm sure will be careful.

Tell you what... if he keeps on scoring like he is I wouldn't be surprised if they came calling. That's why it's imperative we push on and bring in a lot more quality some the summer.

It's not his scoring record that's impressive tho. He's so much more than that. Pace, movement, eye for a pass. His all round game is class I said today he would be the mane to bring the link between out midfield and strikers and it looks like he will be that player. We just need some width now and a more reliable back line
