Why the feck Johnson didn't try to head that ball for their second goal instead of trying to kick it near his head is anyone's guess... :0

I guess the story of any LFC mistake is not complete without Johnson getting some or all the blame for it!
Floyd stepped left and threw the hook that caught Hatton flush under the chin. Finally, the British champ had arrived in that mythical place of which his fans speak: Hatton Wonderland.

City never got out of second gear ,and they still gave us a football lesson ,strolled though our midfield like flies over shite ,Johnson went missing as per usual ,and
left our defenders being dragged out of position Moreno and Skrtel both had to race over to the space vacated by our errant fb and make vital interceptions to stop certain goals...Its just not good enough any more ,Liverpool's lack of bite in midfield and Johnson consistently exposing our back line cannot be tolerated any further ,Gerrard  made one sliding tackle at the start of the game simply not sufficient enough for a player there to supposedly provide protection for our back four ,and Henderson looked lost along with Sterling. City completely negated our threat and took advantage of the weakest points in our formation.... Back to the drawing board I'm afraid,as we we were ruthlessly outclassed,Rodgers needs to be ruthless himself and chisel out the damaged goods.

He may fool you lot, but he don't fool me. Tosh. he dissapears in big  games and his final ball has a lot to be desired. His finishing is total sh*te and he can't hit a barn door, just like Dirk Kuyt. he prob can't even score in a Brothel!!!!!!

I say sell. With Hendo, Lucas, Joe Allen.

Then let's buy some real talent please BR?? Although I doubt you have the contacts across the footballing world to do that.

Sack the manager I say. you lot think BR is the new Bill shankly are total deluded muppets.

Look at what he does sincnce he's been here... he signs Joe allen, and idiot, plays lucas, then signs half of southamptons team!

YAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I say give the job back to KK

Ha. ;)

He finished 2nd place last year a fraction from one of the biggest upsets in EPL history....I say give him 5 more years. You just sound pretty stupid concluding the season after 2 games in which one we lost against the strongest team in the league...It's pretty ridicules that it almost doesn't warrant a reply...But hey if that's your way to climax no one is stopping you just don't leave too much of a mess around here.

this game came too early for us. We needed to test our players against easier opposition before heading to City.

Moreno looks good and should get better.

Markovic looks like he could be very useful

Would have been interesting to throw in Balotelli from the off against his old club.

If I'm Rodgers this squad is far fom complete.

Agree with the above, I had no expectations from his game, it came too early. The season starts next week when BR can assemble his preferred 1st X1 with Balotelli lurking and start to find the best way to use it.

Onwards and upwards.

Got to say some of the reaction on here is nothing short of pathetic. Before Moreno's unfortunate mistake we were actually on top and played some very good football. City under Pellegrini are a very impressive outfit and if some fans can't see that then I feel very sorry for them.  I thought the team were impressive except for Johnson and possibly Gerrard. If some people have the inability to accept that we got beaten by a better team then they should seriously ask themselves a few questions !!

You lot who are thinking we will have a great season, with the tosh signings who no one has ever heard of, and Balotelli, who causes more problems than he solves, and living in cloud cuckoo land.

How well you think we gonna do in the champions league with that lot.! we are a laughing stock a joke. We should change our Home kit to clowns uniforms IMO.

Muppets.

BR.........Needs Sacking...He ain't got a clue.

Kazza - I thought it could be quite a nice touch when the game is played and over to go back and edit the title to show the result, like I've done with my Southampton thread. What do you think?
