F.uck you Benny the manc!

devaney » Sun Sep 01, 2013 3:46 pm wrote:It wasn't pretty and several players were a little overwhelmed by the occasion. Defensively we did very well and limited United to 4 shots on target. RVP was almost absent until he had a shot in about the 85th minute. Great result. Well done lads. Cracking start to the season. 1-0 Danny Sturridge  - brilliant anticipation.

NO PRIZES FOR GUESSING WHO WROTE THE FOLLOWING BEFORE THE GAME !!!
I also can see that we have struggled in the second half of each game so far , I have seen we rely on one player to create for us with one player scoring the goals , I see us playing a CB who hasn't played one competitive game this season and struggles with players with great movement , I see them clinically getting past a good Swansea outfit at Swansea and since then have reintroduced Rooney into the team. We can win it - if we are 100% on form throughout the game and they are below par - I just don't see it happening. I think we will score early - they will get an equaliser before half time and then turn up the pressure in the second half whilst we start to flag and get a winner

Think it's clear who the wums and trolls are -

But they can call me what they want - I don't give a flying f*ck today !

Today they team show a battling attitude that Shanks would have been proud off - I'm proud of the players out there today !!!

It's the price you pay for your pessimism Benny

BTN You don't get a prize but it was very good of you to admit writing such a depressing prediction............ now will you actually start believing that it is not all doom and gloom............ no I didn't think so

Great results today with us winning and Spurs losing...now the only thing that could top this is for Real to pull out of the Bale's deal and see Spurs goes into administration for spending the money they don't have LOL

good result and was impressed with the way we pressed the ball and kept the pressure on them all game, Henderson was the best of the bunch, he was a constant nuisance and made plenty of tackles. Still lots of work to do however, we were still hanging on for long periods of time and our lack of possession play was alarming, im not a fan of any of our central midfield trios, their definitely isnt the right balance their. Aspas was awful and seriously needs to get on the weights, he wasnt ready for anything physical and had zero impact on the game, i hope Sterling gets a starting place in front of him for the next game. Any way 3 points against the mancs is always great and were top of the table so im gonna enjoy the day while it lasts, well done Redmen!

Fowler_e7 I agree with you. Henderson was immense today.

I've admitted I was wrong about sturridge,  but this lad Henderson I predicted would come good. Chuffed for him.

not pretty but who cares. this is a great quality to have in been able to see out a game with the lead intact.
i knew we had a chance purely because they aren't half the team without purple nose, i somehow get the impression moyes wont be spending too much of his career in old toilet
some great performances from our guys today, mignolet is all over everything, johnson was immense, skrtel fully deserved his motm as, not being fully fit he stepped in and done a sterling job. sturidge is a gem and pops up just at the right time, henderson well worthy of his place again, enrique is an amazing retriever of the ball, good show from johnson and gerrard.
make no mistake about it, they didnt have an off day, we just nulified them and rightfully took all 3 points. well done brendan rodgers.

Sterling does need to beef up but take into account he's up against Valencia today, who in terms of upper body strength is one of the best in the league.

A word of praise for Mignolet as well, unlike others i haven't been particularly impressed with him, but today he was great and the defence really looked settled with him behind them, think hes growing into role and was happy with the way he came out for crosses today.

RVP should have been off, Carrick could have been off, Jones and Valencia going down like they'd been shot. What an adorable bunch.

Think Wellbeck also deserves a mention for trying to make a mountain out of a molehill

great result but we actually played better last season when we were down to 10 men against them.
our creative players (i.e gerrard and coutinho) just arent firing on all cylinders at the moment and the pair of them gave the ball away far too cheaply.
today was a game where the normally unheralded players came to the fore, johnson and enrique had great games and really put their bodies on the line flying into last ditch tackles etc and hendo was everywhere putting out fires all over the pitch.
skrtel was immense against van persie and he was first to everything.
good to see brendan going to the bench a bit earlier than normal as well.
wasnt a classic performance by any means but we are starting to become a very hard side to beat, when rodgers first arrived we were too open and too easy to read but we are starting to look a pretty solid unit.

The only difference is mate, that today we won and last year we lost. Now we play to win as opposed to playing good football, even if it meant losing. I know which I prefer.

But I wouldn't worry too much. These 3 teams were teams that we struggled against last season. In order to win, we had to do it ugly. I'm sure that things will be different when we face the Fulham's and the Sunderland's.

Never believed it was all doom and gloom anyway.

We beat the Mancs and your first thought is to post a dig about me - you really do need to get a grip of yourself pal. I think it was yesterday you made a little speech about ignoring me - actually follow through your words - enjoy the victory and stop stalking me you sad child.

Now to carry on drinking !!!!

Top of the league !!!
