Skrtel man of the match. Like I said, he's a good defender but he's only solid when we're parking the buss. I think we'll see a bit less of that in other games that follow now. Have to mention Johnson, Enrique and Sturridge of course. They had a great game. Hendo was pretty good too.

Skertel was quality.  :buttrock  :bowdown

Well done Martin.

Happy Birthday Mr Shankly!

It wasn't pretty and several players were a little overwhelmed by the occasion. Defensively we did very well and limited United to 4 shots on target. RVP was almost absent until he had a shot in about the 85th minute. Great result. Well done lads. Cracking start to the season. 1-0 Danny Sturridge  - brilliant anticipation.

NO PRIZES FOR GUESSING WHO WROTE THE FOLLOWING BEFORE THE GAME !!!
I also can see that we have struggled in the second half of each game so far , I have seen we rely on one player to create for us with one player scoring the goals , I see us playing a CB who hasn't played one competitive game this season and struggles with players with great movement , I see them clinically getting past a good Swansea outfit at Swansea and since then have reintroduced Rooney into the team. We can win it - if we are 100% on form throughout the game and they are below par - I just don't see it happening. I think we will score early - they will get an equaliser before half time and then turn up the pressure in the second half whilst we start to flag and get a winner

I was near tears at the end.  Yeah we sat back and absorbed in the second half, but the aspect of our game that we've all been worried about is looking pretty damn good.  A couple of good saves from Mignolet, but really we didn't give them any really good chances to score.  The Scum's delivery from set pieces was actually laughable.  I actually didn't shlt myself when we conceded corners.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Absolutely fantastic but Jesus wept it felt like eternity.

Hard work is the key and Mignolet has made a massive difference to the defence overall I feel.

Skrtel and Henderson (who have been critical of) where tireless in their work.

Lets enjoy it whilst it lasts!  :buttrock

I totally understand that sentiment on the corners and set pieces. The only time I had a bad feeling was when RVP was taking a corner in the 89th minute. Utd were just woeful today. I have a feeling that Moyes had asked them to deliver the ball consistently at the far post but the execution from the players was horrible.

I wonder why there was a noose next to Sakho. Must be Daniel Levy.

I must have watched a different match to some of you guys. We destroyed them and had full control from start to finish. RVP looked terrified. Giggs looked outclassed and unable to cope with the Kop without Purple Nose and Scholes to buffer some of the intensity. Welbeck looked a little dangerous but otherwise they collapsed.

A great win!

And there's nothing quite so funny as watching Moyes try to look an authority in the Scums box lol. Hopeless :)
