LIVERPOOL V RABOTNICKI 2ND LEG - My 1st match thread and probably last

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby RED BEERGOGGLES » Wed Aug 04, 2010 7:06 pm

It may seem less important than the imminent  takeover ,but its a significant game nonetheless ... all be it against less illustrious names than we our used to playing in the Champions league its still a competition with a trophy at the end of it ....
I personally feel he will introduce a fair sprinkling of major players back into this game ....I am definitely expecting to see Cole and Gerrard back in the fold ... other than that I really am in the dark
however I don't expect too much of a fightback from Macedonia's finest ...... No doubt there will be a healthy  influx of Clothes pegs and lucky heather on general sale at Anfield ...and if any Macedonian's opt to stay in Liverpool I think they can challenge the Kosovan's for Liverpool,s most cosmopolitan Pimp award and can generally begin walking the beat behind Liverpool's Royal Hospital ...... :D

2-0 up should be a decent enough cushion to play a few more youngsters. I read somewhere that Hodgsen confirmed Cole will play too.

Well I won't surprise anyone by saying I'd say "thanks a lot lads" to the kids, and I'd get somewhere near our strongest team out. Time is running out until we play Arsenal, and a nice 3 or 4 nil at Home against these would be an ideal way to get the juices flowing. You can always pull say Gerrard and Cole off after an hour or so, and I think it would give us a right good confidence boost.

Is Stevie even registered for this? He should get some time, Cole will for sure. But id really like to see Pacheco get a decent run out too. Maybe in the 2nd half once the tie is won, which btw I think it already is.

Better do tbh. He should still be pretty fresh after the under 19's too.

We have to imo put our strongest team out possible, let them all have a run out together , get the feel of each other , dust off the cobwebs before our next game , which is Arsenal. so yes im expecting a strong side out from Roy here ,
HE WHO BETRAYS WILL ALWAYS WALK ALONE

Would like to see more of Shelvey and should play Pacheco for 45mins. I'm sure we get the job done.

BUT

What I'm really interested about is 'how many fans will bring the flag of China with them?'

already confirmed by Roy that he is starting Johnson, Carra, Cole, Gerrard, and Jovanovic and that Pacheco is in the squad and that Agger is hurt and Aurelio isn't registered.

Why is that? Because they're just back and not match fit?

Definitely need to use this as preseason training, and that means giving our first team some playing time. They need to be match fit for the start of the season - it's massive with Arsenal and City first up.

Most of the time the "hype" around youth players is exaggerated but in Suso's case he looks amazing.

Pacheco is another one who has graduated from the youth system with honours but I think Hodgson will only play him to increase his profile prior to a loan signing or sale. I see he is wanted by 6 Spanish clubs. This season could be a loan leading to a signing.

Players who take part in a world cup get given a mandatory 1 month off prior to pre-season training. Torres, Kuyt and Reina have only just returned, they'll be nowhere near ready.

Besides, why risk them. 2-0 up with the home leg to come....
