two days to go and there's no match thread. so a complete match thread starting novice like myself has to go and do it. don't come crying to me if it all goes pear shaped.

anyway, out current resurgence under the genius of roy hodgson will probably see us though this one. i don't really fancy us to get beaten... unless poulsen plays (as he's awful) and johnson plays (as he's forgotten how to). the lucas and mereiles axis will hopefully work nicely in midfield again, gerrard will still be pretending he's superman, and the greek will basically scare the shyte out of drogba and anelka. if torres can't motivate himself for this game then he might as well call it a day with us.

it looks like malouda is going to be fit in the end, but a big plus is that essien is now doubtful with a poorly toe or something the poor lamb. if i had to choose one of them to be out it would deffo be him.

we'll get by 2-1

3 weeks ago I would have said a point would satisfy me. But after 3 wins on the trot I think we could actually get 3 points. Gerrard must be feeling confident after yesterday so he will be looking to make a point. Maybe if Nando can follow suit we can win.

Shame Cole will miss this game, I hope Poulsen doesn't play, unless of course we are 3-0 with 5 mins to go. :D

Come on redmen!!!!

Wow what a disgrace, no match thread? we are disgraceful! :D

Anyway didn't Torres score his first league goal against Chelsea? Hopefully we'll see his resurgence again against Chelsea...

Now I'm thinking if I should put a bet on us winning since everyone will be discounting us and the odds will be good. :D

After the small matter of Fleetwood v Walsall in the FA Cup today I will be at the game tomorrow.

We are not favourites by any means, to be honest a draw wouldn't be a disaster.

If we can start the game in a positive manner, close them down, get in their faces and really get the crowd going we can get something.
If we start poorly and give them time to settle and knock the ball around, I can only see one result.
Fact is we need to be at our best all over the pitch.

I assume Maxi, Lucas and Torres will return, be interesting to see what he does at the back with Johnson now available, I would be tempted to stick him with the same back four that played against Bolton.

Maybe Maxi on the left and Johnson on the right in front of Carra.

Its going to be tough ask but after recent matches I feeling a lot more confident.

The tyres are back on the Liverpool wagon and while they may not be fully inflated we look to be moving forward.

Hopeful of snatching a win but a draw wouldnt be end of the world

Love to see Poulsen on and bag a couple but I have fatal character trait in supporting the down and out underdog

Two things better happen against Chelsea or I will be fuming.

1) Poulsen on the bench or better with the reserves.
2) We actually start playing from the first minute, not when we go a goal down.

Shut up rocky, he doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the first team.

Can someone ban this troll?

lucas has had several very good games, poulsen has had several very bad ones. it might have taken longer than we'd hoped but lucas is genuinely starting to look like a decent player and i would take him over poulsen any day of the week.
