Matip should have left it. Ali had it covered

How did Fabinho not score from an open goal

I really think the injuries have taken their toll on Matip. He's just half a yard behind in most things.

FT 2-2 what a great game. Too bad we couldn't hold on to the lead, twice.

We’re not being scored on from good play. We have instances of dog Sh*t defending that we just turn off. Our last 2 games we’ve conceded 5 from players just turning off at the wrong time. Vvd and matip seem to be playing so well and yet we can’t stop leaking trash goals. We should be top of the table by 3 points right now.

Damn, hate to say it but probably fair result. Could have won it had Fabinho not missed or Matip done better with that block (or better yet not block at all), but could have also lost the game way back in the first half when they bossed us or Milner could have seen a second yellow.

In any event, second home match against a direct rival that we don't win, not a good sign even though it's still very early in the season.

Yes time for shake up in defence, getting a bit leaky. Our goals were class, theirs were poor defending

After the way we played in the first half I’ll certainly take that result. Ali, Salah and Mané contributed massively. I really would like to see more of Tsimikas. Robertson is a good lad but hasn’t been as good as we know he can be. City’s second goal was really annoying. Having said that Milner should definitely have been sent off.

First half was one of the worst I can ever remember at Anfield, it was excruciating watching us being bossed on our home turf like that. Second half was much better but the ref did us a huge favour by not sending Milner off, how the hell the club can sit on its hands during the summer when our squad is so paper thin that one injury means we have to start a geriatric at RB is beyond me.
We at least showed enough grit to get something out of the game so credit to the players for that but looking at the 2 sides we'll do well to finish above them, our reluctance to build from a position of strength means teams have now caught us up and overtaken us.
