We weren't at our best on the counter with some sloppy passing and decision making BUT , despite the possession stats, defensively we stood strong and handled their attacks with relative ease.
Obviously delighted with the win but especially pleased with the defensive performance, it's finally looking like we're learning how to "dig out" a game
Yup that was the major positive, our defensive performance. If we had that sort of resilience we wouldn't have lost against Bournemouth. Its important that we solidify the defensive aspect of our game. There will be many more games where we will need to play again like this.
Wouldn't surprise me to see the likes of Sturridge, Lucas, Moreno etc feature tomorrow. 43 hours between games isn't a lot and there'll still be some tired limbs from the City game.
The win yesterday was very important, not only to keep the pressure on Chelsea but also to keep bit of a gap between ourselves and the likes of Arsenal and Spurs who both won today. It really is tight amongst the top 6 teams. Literally a league within a league. Top 6 teams have recently been churning out wins every week
