Chelsea v Liverpool 29/09/2018 KO 17:30

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Strange starting another thread but it is another game and a massive one at that. Hopefully VVD is fit and we can exact revenge for the cup defeat.

Our toughest test do far, Sarri has tried to play down Chelsea chances but to me they have as good a chance as us to win the League, been the distance and packed with class players.

Honestly I would take a draw now as I think it will be a very hard game.

We got a taste on Wednesday of how tough this game will be.

VVD looks very doubtful as he hasn't trained all week, so I'm expecting Gomez and Matip at CB.

We need to be at the races for this one.

Our front three need to be firing on all cylinders, otherwise I can't see us getting the three points.

Chelsea have a very strong midfield but they lack a top CF and their defence is not as good as it once was, if we press well tomorrow I can see us beating them. I've watched them a few times this season and every half decent side they have come up against has created chances against them, Arsenal scored 2 and missed about 4 absolute sitters and that was at Stamford Bridge as well not the Emirates. City repeatedly carved them open at Wembley and even the likes of Newcastle and Cardiff have scored against them and as the old footballing adage goes both of those sides would struggle to score in a brothel.
With the likes of Hazard, Kovacic, Kante, Jorginho etc they do probably have the best midfield in the country but their back 4 can definitely be got at.

If Van Dijk is out i would cut our chances on getting 3 points. Without hia leadership we are kind of screwed at the back.

However saying that i feel we will keep it tight in the middle with Wijnaldum/ Milner and Keita. Chelsea bossed out the middle in the Caraboa so that is key for me.

With our thrilling 3 back uptop we will cause them a lot of problems.

Heart says- Chelsea 1-2 Liverpool

A bit of a baptism of fire for young Gomez but it’s a good opportunity for him to grow as a CB without Daddy Van Dyke to hold his hand. My heart says 1-2 Firmino and Mane, my head 2-2. A draw wouldn’t be the end of the world but we’d need to compensate against Citeh at Anfield.

Quite a few reports this morning that VVD will start against Chelsea  :buttrock

I would really like to see some clinical professional finishing this time...Not our defensive setup but rather our attacking players that would decide the games faith.

Hendo, Milner and Wjnaldum in Midfield. No Keita in the starting eleven.

Don't know what to make of it.

VVD starts also

Expected line-up, and VVD starting! That's a relief. Feeling a bit more positive now.
