Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby yckatbjywtbiastkamb » Wed Apr 13, 2005 11:20 pm

i went for a walk with 15 minutes to go, my nerves were completley shot to pieces - came back to hear gary mac with glassy eyes eulogising about us.
i felt tonight something that i hadn`t felt for twenty years, i never thought i feel like this again, and i cant even explain the feeling either. its ****** great it really is.
we owe chelsea, the first game at stamford bridge was a none event won with a goal from a set peice, the second game we were robbed soft and the third they needed an own goal when we had half a side.
we will win - sometimes you can read football like a book, we`ve had terrible luck, but remember, it evens itself out.
what price we win with a deflected goal?

Chelsea are due a fall. They are a better team than us but we have a wind in our sails now.

Gerrard will be back, Alonso will be motoring and Cisse hopefully fully match fit.

Getting interesting, isn't it?

ANother point: I've been a big critic of Sammi Hyppia this season but that the best performance I've seen from him since the 2002 season.

Xabi was first class tonight. Can't believe he lasted the full 90 mins. Passing was first class as you would expect but he was putting in tackles all over the pitch. This lad can be a MASSIVE player for years to come.

Yes, Xabi was immense.

Apparently he really struggled in the reserve game last week so to be so impressive in such a massive game boggles the mind.

Great to see Cisse getting caught offside again.  :D

I hope more than anything that Xabi Alonso wins the tie for us against Chelski

Is there any chance of Didi Hamman being fit for the second leg?

Agree Sami was fuxing immense tonight. Man of the Match by a distance for me. Far from the washed up player some claim him to be. Igor played a great game, particularly in the first half.

Rafas' substitutions all worked for him again tonight. Nunez worked his ****** off for the team tonight but Smicer came on, showed a calm head and kept the ball better for us in the 2nd half. I thought Le Tallec did ok and Cisses pace (he still loooked quick didn't he? :D ) gave them something el;se to think about in the closing stages.

I think we can beat Chelsea on the 1st leg. Chelsea have to meet The Gunners in PL two or Three day before the 1st Leg of the semi final....
