He sounds like a pretty straight up guy... Just a shame he hasn't got the funds to take it on his own

If you go back and watch their interview when we were first bought over, Gillette done all the talking and made all the good vibes. He probably genuinely believed what he was saying, whereas fat head just sat there silent with a smug grin. Then again, Hicks probably has his hand up Gillette's a$$ and pulling all the strings.

I dont agree. A deal has been weeks away all season, all thats been confirmed is that hicks hasnt put up the money he obviously promised to add to the new stadium and signings for players with regards to lfc.

Not at all Gillett indicated that Hicks had been given a chance to buy him out but failed, he also indicated that he can't work with Hicks, he certainly can't afford to buy out Hicks. Gillett of course wants to sell, who wouldn't when you are receiving death threats etc and that leaves...... DIC  :buttrock  :bowdown  :D

Deal to be done very very soon, also very interesting that Hicks has not yet come out with any kind of rebuttal, firstly to the article in the independent and now the Gillett interview.

I've said it before and I'll say it again (probably a million more times and all) but until I see him leaving Anfield for good I can't believe any of it. It's all to regular that these things are happening.

Also I think Hicks/Gillett are looking for a good reason to sack Benitez. They always seem to stair something up just before Europe comes around and apparently that's what they want to win so much. I think now that Hicks has lost all faith from the fans he wouldn't hesistate sacking Benitez, but he needs a good enough reason to do so, and failing in Europe would be that reason.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

I don't thinks so mate... I think that they've put themselves in a position where it's difficult to sack benitez now... if they've kept quiet all along then they could've sacked him at the end of this season and most fans wouldn't have blinked an eye... if they sack him now then the fans will be angrier whether or not it's justified... their priority right now is to mend the bridges they themselves burned...

Well for me, I don't think they give a toss about the fans or club any more so they wouldn't hesistate in letting Benitez go.

Around the time of the Klinsman saga and the march for Benitez, I thought then they wouldn't sack Benitez because it's what the fans wanted and they thought that they could regain some trust from the fans, now that the bridges have been burned for good and there's no way of repairing them, I wouldn't be surprised if they did sack Benitez.

Parrys opened his mouth aswell now

Parry wants quick end to Reds saga

Rick Parry believes Liverpool's ownership saga is coming "to a head" and must now be resolved by the American co-owners as quickly as possible.

George Gillett revealed in an interview this week that his relationship with Tom Hicks had long since broken down, and Parry admits that he sees no way in which they can carry on as a partnership.

With Dubai International Capital reportedly keen to launch a full takeover of the Anfield club, Hicks has so far refused to do business unless he can retain a controlling share, while Gillett appears more amenable - claiming DIC would be "responsible" owners.

But whatever happens, Parry has called for matters to move quickly.

"I think it brings it to a head - clearly for the good of the club from where I sit," the Reds' chief executive told BBC Radio Five Live's Sportsweek programme.

"The hope will be that it's resolved quickly now, it's dragged on for long enough and the ideal would be to move to as speedy a resolution as possible."

Parry added: "All things are possible at the moment - somebody's got to sell, that's clear. If they're not able to co-exist then there needs to be a solution where one buys and one sells, or both sell.

"There aren't too many other possibilities but it's pretty clear that to carry on with the status quo is going to be extremely difficult."

Watching the "Sunday Supplement" on tv this morning (for those that don't know it , four sports journalists sit round a table and talk footy for an hour) . Now I know journo's make up stories BUT they do have the ears closer to the ground than most.

One of them claimed this morning that DIC will definitely take over before the start of next season, reckons only our continued presence in the CL is stopping the deal from going through any sooner. The other journo's seemed to agree.

Anyone else read Parry's words and think they sound like an audition to keep his job under new ownership?
