This bell was telling us the other day that Huang hadn't the backing to takeover. Credible, I think not.

All the rags are bound to be at it over the next few weeks. But all things aside if CIC are behind this deal then I think it could even mean us being richer than City. A frightening thought that, there is too much money in football as it is.

332 billion sounds like a fair bit, feck me. The trouble with all these bidders is you never really know until about six months after you've signed on the dotted line whether you've got the right one or not. The difficulty for me is, I'm not sure if I'd actually be that happy if we got someone rich enough to do a Man City. That for me is a fecking ridiculous carry on, and even if we did win the title under those circumstances I'd be happy but no ecstatic.

My ideal would be someone who'd redevelop the original Anfield site (I know it's probably a non-starter but I think it would be a tragedy to tear it down,) and build it up to around a 60,000 capacity but keep the atmos'. Then, I'd like him or them to give the manager 30 million quid each summer and say off you go (plus of course any money from player sales). If we won the league under those circumstances, then I'd be ecstatic.

If the owner or owners is able to do that and make himself a few quid out of gaming rights on playstation, or on handtowel sales in Shanghai, I couldn't really care less to be honest. That's my ideal owner anyway, although I know it's probably cloud cuckoo land.

They'd allocate capital and a budget which just like T&T, might be 2/6.

If they are all genuine about wanting to get the deal done before the end of the transfer window so we can "strengthen", where does that leave us in terms of targets? Roy said today (and I must confess I believed him) that he was taking no interest whatsoever in the ownership situation, which in itself is fair enough. What happens though if someone comes in with huge wedges and says there you go, you've got a week to spend 35 million quid? Does he have a copy of "classic British Supercars" folded in the centre pages of his exchange and mart, or will he have to completely start again if he's given funds. Someone mentioned Luke Young, and while I quite like him, surely if we've got a lot of cash to splash we won't be buying him. Mind you, would we under those circumstances have re-signed Aurelio either?

I hate to be completely pessimistic, but if I had to put my life on it I don't think it will go through as quickly as we all hope.

Its been a mad few days. been good reading what DVC and bamba post over on rawk but they have gone silent now

What we do know is were coming to the end game and i really do think there is only huang in for us. i think keith harris and the syrian bid are just PR stunts to drive the price up.

what is good is that huang has come out and said he is interested. wheres normally we get a big fat denial.

lets keep our cool we have had 3 years of these horrible . whats another few weeks.
