Yeah good points Saint. Overall most of the individual circumstances are better. Now we just need to hope the owners dont want stay here. Would it be out of the realms of possibility to stage a protest against the owners. We all saw the Rafa support thing at the Porto game I remember on the march invite it said "this isnt about the owners its about supporting Rafa, leave that for another day". Well that day is TODAY. Or Monday to be more preicse. :D

Agreed , i think maybe the yanks just need one of those little gentle nudges towards the door. You know the kind i mean ,sort of like the doorman on the pleasure rooms give when they get a trouble causer on a saturday night

RAWK and TLW are both saying that Al Jazeera are now reporting that Hicks INVITED DIC to make a bid. Sounds good to me.

These things dont happen over night but as I said we have no idea how far along it really is. I guess if BBC are reporting it so much there must be some truth in it. Also smart tactics by Rafa exposing it, hes a clever man indeed. We have a chance to save the club from what will surley be a disaster if these yanks carry on. Lets not blow this chance.

I hope Rick Parry or anyone doesnt :censored: it up.

It was rumoured last week that due diligence was taking, or had already taken place Bav. I presume even the earlier bids for 15% or the bid just for Hicks half (if it ever happened)would have necessitated due diligence.

So it may be all systems go for a quick takeover if the two clowns will just sign on the dotted line.

£500Million does seem a very high price though. I can't really see DIC going so high.

It sounds too good to be true in terms of the speed at which people anticipate this the speed of this takeover if you ask me. But I hope your right.

Also I read DIC wont be put of by increased interest rates as a result of the credit crunch. They are no fools, they have waited patiently observing how these yanks have handled the club probabaly knowing full well that a :censored: up like this was on the cards.

500 Mil is not alot of money for these guys. This is the ruler fo Saudi Arabia we are talking about people. To give you an idea of how influential they are to the economy umm if they pulled out all of their money from the USA many many heads would start rolling. I know its a lot more than what they were previously going to pay but the fact this they knew this would happen - market trends with credit added to the fact that G&H were bound to over inflate the price seeing as they just bought it a year ago. If they were put of by the price they wouldnt have even been sniffing around the club.  :eyebrow

Dubai u mean.  Not Saudi Arabia

Dubai group ponder Liverpool bid
By Phil McNulty
Chief football writer

Dubai International Capital - the investment arm of the Dubai Government - is ready to table a new £500m bid to buy Liverpool Football Club.

BBC Sport understands DIC has drawn up plans to take control from American duo George Gillett and Tom Hicks.

But the deal is subject to conditions which Gillett and Hicks are currently unwilling to meet.

DIC was originally thought to be ready to make an offer for Hicks' 50% share, but now favours a total buy-out.

DIC was close to buying the club in January 2007, but pulled out when Liverpool refused to agree to a deadline on the deal and moved into advanced negotiations with Hicks and Gillett.

The interest has now been seriously revived, but DIC is insistent it will not pay over the odds to buy the club, and until Gillett and Hicks agree to certain terms contained within the deal, an impasse has been reached.

Gillett and Hicks' reign has caused turmoil on and off the pitch at Liverpool, and DIC has always maintained a close eye on Liverpool's situation, despite the collapse of the previous deal.

Gillett and Hicks are currently attempting to finalise terms on a £350m loan that would enable them to repay money borrowed for their £218.9m takeover, repay loans used to sign players, and enable them to start work on a re-scaled plan for a new stadium in Stanley Park.

DIC hopes the offer would present the American duo with a get-out clause before they take out the massive loan.

Hicks, in particular, is under pressure after being subjected to heavy criticism from fans following public disagreements with popular manager Rafael Benitez.

He has also come under fire for his admission that talks had been held with Jurgen Klinsmann about possibly succeeding the Spaniard.

Liverpool fans will turn up the heat on Gillett and Hicks with an orchestrated protest at Monday night's game against Aston Villa.

Website Reclaim The Kop issued a statement claiming they were "not fit to be associated with our club" and banners criticising the Americans and calling on DIC to launch a bid were held aloft on The Kop during the FA Cup win against Luton.

Liverpool supporters are also concerned at how much of the £350m loan will be shifted on to the club's books - with crippling interest payments.

They will also have to fund the £300m stadium plan, with a decision expected soon after two new designs were studied by Gillett and Hicks, along with chief executive Rick Parry, in New York earlier this month.

A spokeman for the Americans said on Thursday: "Any suggestion Hicks and Gillett are contemplating a sale of the club or any portion of it is categorically untrue."

DIC backed away from a £150m price tag for a 15% stake in Liverpool last October, but the financial uncertainty surrounding the club has increased and there is hope a new offer will prove more tempting.

BBC has altered its report now, not quite so promising :(

Its at times like these that a brick through the window may help nudge them along. :D  Only joking. Well if anything was going to stand in DIC's way it was always going to be the owners. The only thing we can do as fans is tell the owners how much we want them to sell the club, we need sustained preassure on these 2 :censored: until they :censored: off.

terms contained within the deal

Don't ever come near our club again
say Sir when you speak to Rafa for the last time as you apologise for humiliating him.
Tell your mate George Bush to pull out of Iraq
As a parting gift, buy us Kaka

It goes totally against the grain but if us fans are serious and really want to get a message to the yanks, boycott the Villa match.
The sight of Liverpool playing in a totally empty Anfield  will echo around the world. Hicks and Gillette will get the message.

Has such a thing ever been done? It would definatley be effective but then again we arnt pulling out support away from the players. They need out support but a few banners and chants should do the trick.

Like I said "If us fans are serious"

Don't think the players would misinterpret what's going on.

i posted the same thing the other day woof, and got no positive feed back

i feel that it would put a rocket right up the yanks a$$ and would also show the power and togetherness of the fans,

even though i reckon the empty seats would just be filled with daytrippers  who want to take there camera phone and girlfriends for a night out

If we want to make ourselves look like complete planks, destroy our credibility as supporters, inflame an already shambolic series of events mid-way through our season, potentially having serious consequences to the final outcome of our season - boycott the Villa match.

As it happens, I'll bet you my life that it won't happen, and so it shouldn't.
