I have a weird feeling Kuyt would score if he started upfront, but he might not  :D

Of course it maybe bull like.

so we are looking at (POSSIBLY)
OUT: Arbeloa, Insua, Alonso, Hyypia, Keane
Not 90 minute match fit: Torres, Skrtel, Aurelio, Dossena

we might see the debut of the Skrtel Agger pairing if Carra plays right back.

wonder if San Jose or Darby are traveling?

why the hell would San Jose play or travel Joe? i dont think Rafa would wanna mess around especially after his tirade during his press conference. anyway, team news:

Fernando Torres is expected to return to Premier League action for the first time since November when Liverpool travel to Stoke.

Full-back Alvaro Arbeloa is unlikely to be involved as he recovers from a hamstring problem, but Javier Mascherano has overcome an ankle knock sustained at Preston in the FA Cup last weekend.

Fabio Aurelio is expected to return at left-back, with teenager Emiliano Insua on international duty with Argentina Under-20s.

Midfielder Xabi Alonso has been ruled out with a foot injury, while veteran defender Sami Hyypia will make the 700th appearance of his club career if he figures at the Britannia Stadium.

Midfielder Matthew Etherington is expected to make his Stoke debut after arriving from West Ham this week.

Manager Tony Pulis has promised to shake up his side for the Barclays Premier League match at the Britannia Stadium following the FA Cup defeat by League One side Hartlepool.

Striker Richard Cresswell is available again after suspension while Dave Kitson could get another run-out following knee problems as Ricardo Fuller remains banned.

Teams

Stoke (from): Sorensen, Wilkinson, Davies, Shawcross, Sonko, Abdoulaye Faye, Dickinson, Higginbotham, Lawrence, Etherington, Soares, Kitson, Tonge, Diao, Delap, Olofinjana, Whelan, Pugh, Cresswell, Pericard, Simonsen.

Liverpool (from): Reina, Carragher, Agger, Hyypia, Skrtel, Aurelio, Benayoun, Lucas, Mascherano, Gerrard, Babel, Keane, Kuyt, Torres, Riera, Ngog, El Zhar, Cavalieri.

IF it is true that Hyypia is not traveling, AND if Carra plays right back, then there is nobody else at the club to put on the subs bench for centre half cover.

i hope not man. we need Hyypia especially since stoke are supposedly so convincing with their throw ins...

but if either should play i would rather see Darby as he has tasted first team action, and i like his style.

Cant wait for this game, I want to see Torres and Keane up front with Gerrard taking Alonso's spot in midfield.

We will be too much for them, I am expecting 3-0 (and I have $10 on it too).

I reckon he could play a big part in a win IF he plays on the right, maybe a goal and/or an assist or two. As much as some still under-rate him, he does lay on a number of passes in the box and nod downs etc to set up team-mates - not that they always take them, nor does he for that matter. But he's handy to have at the far post for crosses from the left, good for creating from the right side of the box and covers so much ground he threatens from all over
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

Britannia Stadium is an awkward place to go and Stoke have the 6th best home record in the Premiership this season, only bettered by Man Utd, Liverpool, Fulham, Arsenal and Aston Villa.

                           Reina

Carragher      Hyypia      Agger      Aurelio

Benayoun      Lucas   Mascherano  Riera

                    Gerrard
                                Torres

Subs

Keane
Kuyt
Babel
El Zhar
Darby
Skrtel
Cavalieri

I'd go with that except I'd much rather have Kuyt on the right - he links up better with Torres and Gerrard. I'll be gobsmacked if Rafa doesn't start with Kuyt either on the right or up front.

Rafa may also start Skrtel instead of Hyypia, he may play Babel or Benayoun on the left instead of Riera.

I wonder if he would also consider a 4-4-2 with Keane/ Kuyt and Torres up front and Masch and Gerrard in central midfield. Wouldn't be my preference though.

Apparently Skrtel will start, but Torres WILL NOT START.
