Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby RED BEERGOGGLES » Mon Jan 25, 2016 8:15 pm

Mignolet 5 Left exposed by his defence every time Norwich came forward.
Clyne  4 poor performance
Toure  4 No understanding with Sakho whatsoever
Sakho 5 The fact our keeper plays the ball out to him all the time ,places a huge onus on his shoulders ,he's easily the most involved of our back four
Moreno 3 Half a haircut /half a brain
Can  4 He doesn't seem to involved of late ,games and the importance of his position are just eluding him completely.
Lucas 6 Ok
Hendo 5 His goal was probably the only glimmer of industry about his game.
Milner 7 Ran his heart out and looked gutted with every Norwich goal.
Ibe 5 Couldn't impose himself on the game ,and subsequently withdrawn after a weak first half display.
Firmino 9 Class act ,and one to those that were willing to testify to his brilliance .....a very welcome one.

Nice one mate  :bowdown

LIVERPOOL V WEST HAM

MINGOLET - 4 didn't concede but looked very ropey
CLYNE - 6 did okay
LOVREN - 6 his first game back after a decent lay off and tbh at times it showed
CAULKER - 5 did okay but lucky not to give away a pen
SMITH - 5 runs hard but his passing needs work, he blasts the ball at his team mates when they are about 3 yards away
ALLEN - 5 expected a bit more from him as he's been playing well recently
STEWART - 5 works his @rse off but not the best distributor of the ball
BRANNIGAN - 7 did well, impressive performance
IBE - he had a poor game tonight I thought
TEXEIRA - 6 classy player but can look a bit lightweight at times, should have scored as well.
BENTEKE - 6 did okay I thought but okay isn't really enough when you cost over £30m, should have squared it to Texiera as well.

MINGOLET- 4 - flapping clown
CLYNE -  7 - had a good match, especially considering just back from injury
LOVREN - 6.5 - nice to have him back
CAULKER - 6 - did ok in his proper position
SMITH - 6 - very promising
ALLEN - 7 - did well
STEWART - 6.5 - did very well, was more composed in this one
BRANNIGAN - 7 - this kid looks class
IBE - 5 - greedy, selfish, where have i heard that before ?
TEXEIRA - 7 - great technician, made a poor decsion with the pass at the end, could have picked out Ojo on the right but instead popped it to a hammer
BENTEKE - 3 - useless

Subs..

Ojo - 7 - cameo performance, he must be starting games now, excellent player, electric pace and can finish
Enrique - 2 - his freekick will go down in folklore with that Aspas corner
Sinclair - 1 - if you don't want to be at this great club, take Aidy Ward and f*ck off

MINGOLET - 5 wasn't challenged but you can the same malaise...Flapping and not communicating.
CLYNE - 8 Thought he was great ,that's the Clyne i wished for ,working his line ,pushing forward ,cutting to the Middle, Superb.
LOVREN - 6 Brute force no brain.
CAULKER - 6 Brute force no brain.
SMITH - 6 This lad is ready for either starting or sub position ,aggressive and disciplined.
ALLEN - 7 Part of a very compact aggressive MF which controlled the game ,squandered 1 great chance but overall good performance.
STEWART - 6 For effort and energy ,less effective with the ball.
BRANNIGAN - 8 Same as the rest of the MF but also composed calm and accurate passing ,very good set pieces distributions.
IBE - 5 Having a very bad spell ,thought he would breakthrough this year but for some-reason he doesn't connect. Needs much better decision making
TEXEIRA - 6 Very technical player but you just feel he is too lightweight for the job.
BENTEKE - 5 Was active and pretty mobile but he is paid to put the ball in the Net and he again failed with some very good chances.

MINGOLET 5 .Little to do as our pressing kept the Hammerz on the back foot ,but in games such as these having a standby mode is essential.
CLYNE 6 . After a significant drop in form ,it was nice to see arguably England's best RB make a return.
LOVREN 7 Jurgen's favourite word is 'cool' and Dejan was the Iceman on Saturday ,whilst his fellow defenders played at warp speed.
CAULKER 7 Threw himself into every challenge ,erratic yes ,but never lacked the commitment needed ,reminded me of Carragher.
SMITH 6 Needs to know when to charge forward and when to simply play the ball out of danger ,the lads rapid ,but will risk burn out if he keeps this up.
ALLEN 5 Experienced midfielders should stand out amongst kids ,not Joes finest 90 mins

BRANNIGAN 9 Cameron  is the type of player every manager and fan wants in their team ,the kid  looked like a seasoned pro ,never gave Payet a moment to conjure any magic ,snapping at heels harrying and winning possession and distributing with aplomb. If Klopp is the manager I believe him to be ,he has a massive future at this club. I remember Gerrards first performances under Houllier were raw and littered with rash decisions but you could see his passion and zeal in every challenge he made, I see the same in Brannagan only with less of the mistakes.

IBE 4 I hate to give reference to this particular player ,but he should watch Sterling's game and learn just why he's considered a real threat going forward.

TEXEIRA 8 The Hammerz targeted Tex to disrupt our play ,because along with Brannagan he controlled the midfield with real composure and poise ,thought he was the recipient of some real physical challenges and proved his undoubted talent by not becoming embroiled and not becoming distracted ,just kept playing his football.

BENTEKE 2  Yikes !!!!!

Newkit player of the month JANUARY

Games:

West Ham (A)
Stoke (A)
Exeter(A)
Arsenal (H)
Man United (H)
Exeter (H)
Norwich (A)
Stoke (H)
West Ham (H)

Candidate:
                       Rating:                   Games played:

Kolo Toure                             6.1                         5
Lucas Leiva                            6.6                         5
Emre Can                               5.9                         6
Joe Allen                               6.7                         6 (started 3)
Roberto Firmino                     6.9                         6

And the winner is..........    ROBERTO FIRMINO... Finally starting to look like the player we payed those money for. He's still adapting but seems to improve with every game.

Anyways, our second team played a few games this month and a few of those kids did pretty well so it's worth mentioning the stand-outs. I did not include them in the official monthly averages because they played just a few games and played against lesser opponents (so to speak), but some of them deserve a notable mention, so here it is:

Player:                                    Rating:                               Games played:

Brad Smith                              7                                         3
Cameron Brannagan                7.2                                      3
Carlos Texeria                        7.1                                       3

Leicester City v Liverpool - EPL - Tue 2nd Feb 2016 7.45pm

Mignolet - 7 - pulled off a couple of great saves then nearly flapped into own net and defo at fault for goal
Clyne - 5 - pretty poor display, not the same player as last season
Lovren - 6 - thought he was ok
Sakho - 5 - had a decent game, up until the 2nd goal who he was responsible for
Moreno - 2 - utter Sh*t, 2 is being very kind
Can - 3 - all run and no brain
Henderson - 4 - same as can
Lucas - 3 - dire performance, giving the ball away repeatedly, why he started over Allen is nobodys business
Lallana - 5 - was ok with no end product, usual him
Milner - 5- started well but quickly resorted to type
Firmino - 4 - a ghost tonight

Subs......

Benteke - 4 - awful
Allen 6 - should defo be starting
Teixeira - 4 - way too late in the game to impose himself, can't even remember him touching the ball tbh

Mignolet - 7 - A great shot stopper, not much else
Clyne - 5 - just so average...
Lovren - 6 - meh, ok I guess.
Sakho - 4 - just an accident waiting to happen
Moreno - 2 - no brain, get rid
Can - 3 - no brain 2
Henderson - 4 - Just no quality in this lad
Lucas - 3 - Never ever liked Lucas, but for some reason so many likes him
Lallana - 5 - good feet but he has scored his 1 goal this season already
Milner - 5- like many others, he runs.
Firmino - 4 - reverted back to a month ago, which means he is dependent on service and can't do things on his own

Mignolet - 7 - he didn't really do too much wrong, and made a couple of good saves
Clyne - 6 - I thought he was OK
Lovren - 5 - struggled with the pace, good in the air
Sakho - 3 - poor game, especially culpable for the second goal
Moreno - 4 - oh dear...
Can - 4 - time for Allen I think
Hendo - 5 - time for Allen I think
Lucas - 5 - time for Allen I think
Lallana - 5 - good player, I see why Klopp likes him, but in his position he has got to score goals
Milner - 5 - time for Allen I think
Firmino - 5 - not much service, not much quality, did at least work hard

Subs......

Benteke - 4 - came on with plenty of time to make an impact and he didn't. I actually feel for him, his confidence must be so low, but...
Allen - 6 - he must be wondering what he has to do to start in this side, but I don't think he was the right sub in this situation
Teixeira - 6 - not enough time to do anything

Mignolet - 7 - Kept us in the game until Vardy's stunner
Clyne - 5 - Not much wrong BUT not much right
Lovren - 5 - Ok'ish
Sakho - 5 - Disappointing
Moreno - 3 - Had high hopes for this lad but I'm beginning to lose faith, very poor tonight.
Can - 4 - Trying hard, maybe too hard ? some poor decision making. Disappointing tonight
Henderson - 3 - Can't believe he's our Captain, very poor.
Lucas - 4 - below par
Lallana - 5 - OK'ish
Milner - 4- Never the quickest but looked a right lump
Firmino - 2 - For me our worst performer. Total lack of BOTTLE, pulling out of challenges time and time again   :veryangry

Subs......

Benteke - 3 - waste of a shirt
Allen - 5  - At least he was one player attempting to play for his place.
Teixeira - N/A the lad was brought on with just minutes left on the clock.

Despite the below par performance we still dominated for most of the game. IF only we had a striker who could hit the back of the net it might have been very different.

MINGOLET - 6 one or two good saves but positioning was poor, Vardy himself said he was keeping an eye on Mingolet all game
CLYNE - 5 looks tired to me
LOVREN - 5 not at his best but returning from injury so gets a bit of leeway (especially given his performances in December)
SAKHO - 4 didn't cover himself in glory for their second
MORENO - 4 needs to work on his game intelligence
LUCAS - 5 the whole midfield (not just Lucas) let us down last night
CAN - 4 like Clyne he looks shattered, both players have near enough played every game though and quite frankly it shows
HENDERSON - 4 works like a Trojan but at the end of the day he is not a quality player
MILNER - 5 did okay
LALLANA - 5 no end product as per usual
FIRMINO - 5 his worst performance in quite a while
