Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby kazza » Thu Mar 03, 2016 2:16 pm

Mignolet - 6 Not much to do
Clyne - 7     Better than Moreno on the left
Toure - 8.    Happy we have him
Lovren - 7   Tidy
Flanagan - 8 thought he did well
Henderson - 6 clearly injured and makes my think whether purple nose was right about him
Can - 8       Strong on the ball
Milner - 7   Love his positional sense, work ethic, committment. I just wish he has more quality.
Lallana - 8. Had his best game but still needs a little more end product. Goal was a goalie error
Firmino - 7 Good player but gets caught offside too much.
Origi - 7 I think he is a good prospect, Good movement, technique and drive.

Subs...
Benteke - 5
Allen - 6
Ibe -  5

Crystal Palace vs. Liverpool 1-2, 6th of March, 2016

Mignolet - 6.5 - thought he did well, had a good save early and was OK in the air
Flanagan - 5.5 - seemed like he struggled to be honest
Lovren - 7.5 - my MOTM, very strong, very active, read the game well and won most of his duels
Sakho - 6.5 - not as good as Lovren but did well overall IMO
Moreno - 6
Can - 6 - part of a very poor midfield but was best of the bunch. Not a lot going forward but did well defensively and bringing the ball out of defence
Henderson - 4 - he's been poor for a while now. If we continue with Hendo and Milner as our main midfielders we're going to have to get used to seeing our team play bad
Milner - 4 - see Henderson. Also, what a f*cking moron for the red
Lallana - 5 - usual Lallana stuff. A trick pony that does next to nothing productive
Firmino - 6.5 - not at his best but scored a goal
Origi - 6.5 - if only he could get himself into more goal scoring chances he'd be a heck of a player, though that's not solely down to him

Subs:
Coutinho - 6
Benteke - 6 - not very useful but scored the winning goal
Toure - N/A

Crystal Palace V Liverpool  - EPL - Sunday March 6th 1.30pm

Mignolet - 8 - He needs to go, but on todays performance was very good, kept us in the game
Flanagan - 6 - looked tired
Lovren - 9 - looking the real deal under JK
Sakho - 7 - solid and passing was good also
Moreno- 3 - has to go, liability
Henderson - 5 - poor
Can - 8.5 - the real deal, Can the Man
Milner - 4 - for a man of his experience to get sent off was inexcusable
Lallana - 6 - worked hard all match
Firmino - 7 - marmite, love him or hate him, he often pops up with the important goal
Origi - 7 - played very well, moved their defence around well, shame he had no decent partner today

Subs...

Toure - NA - Not long enough to rate
Coutinho - 7 - helped changed the game, we looked better with him on
Benteke - 7 - just for the penalty and the 3 points

Mignolet - 7
Flanagan - 5
Lovren - 8 - Did well throughout.Excellent performance
Sakho - 7
Moreno- 5
Henderson - 5
Can - 9.5 - His best game at the club so far. Passed it really well, defended really well, played more than a position, showed strength and real maturity with that performance. Carried Henderson
Milner - 5
Lallana - 7
Firmino - 4 - Gets a 4 because he scored that goal after the GK's mistake. Terrible with everything else though especially their goal.
Origi - 7 - Ran and ran and ran. Then ran out of energy.

Subs...

Toure -
Coutinho - 6
Benteke - 8 Up from a 7 because he won the penalty and scored under pressure. Good touch when he got the ball.

MINGOLET - 7 decent game
FLANAGAN - 5 struggled to cope with Bolaisse's pace, mind you he's not alone there
SAKHO - 8 thought he was a rock today, really put his body on the line, should be captain IMO
LOVREN - 8.5 his best performance in a red shirt, brave, committed - just outstanding
MORENO - 7 thought he really rolled his sleeves up and got stuck in, nearly scored too.
HENDERSON - 6 worked hard
CAN - 7.5 his strength was a real asset in the middle of the park today, after a quiet spell his last 2 performances have been terrific
MILNER - 5 unlike him to be that naive
LALLANA - 6 not his best game but put a shift in
FIRMINO - 7 like Lallana not really his type of game but once again delivered in terms of a goal or an assist
ORIGI - 7 ran his blood to water and battled for everything, he'll impress Jurgen if he keeps chasing lost causes like that

Mignolet - 8 - he kept us in the game
Flanagan - 5.5 - had little impact
Lovren - 7.5 - looked solid
Sakho - 6.5 - lost Adebayor a couple of times and can't win a header to save his life
Moreno- 5 - nothing new. Ambitious but poor defensivly
Henderson - 6 - his poor form continues
Can - 7 - still young and can improve
Milner - 5 - stupid to get frustrated and loose his cool
Lallana - 6 - was back to normal. lively with little end product
Firmino - 6.5 - he is skilled, our leading goal scorer, but also weak and drifts out of games
Origi - 7 - young with lots of energy. there is hope for him to turn into a good player

Mignolet -8  Pulled off a Clemence with the block ,not a second thought for his own safety in going to ground to thwart what would have been a certain Palace goal.
Flanagan - 5 Struggled a touch with the menace of Palaces running machines ,but its still early days before we see the Flanagan of two seasons ago.
Lovren - 8 - Pick of the defenders ,thought he looked  composed for the entire 90 mins
Sakho - 7 Good game ,but Toure would have stopped Adebayour getting to that header.
Moreno- 7 Best game for a while ,battled well and nearly scored with a rasping shot.
Henderson - 5 Still awaiting a tackle of note
Can - 9 Top man ,controlled the middle with almost an arrogance.
Milner - 2 No reds player should allow himself to become so caught up with frustration to the extent he belittles the 10 players he shares the field with by exacting two ridiculous tackles.
Lallana - 7 Played well and ran himself into the ground.
Firmino - 7 Took his goal with a great deal of composure  and made what some would make  hard work  look relatively easy.
Origi - 7  Tireless for his time on the pitch and gave Palace problems they never expected ,he also managed to defend from the front which is often a thankless task.

Newkit player of the month FEBRUARY

Games:

Leicester (A)
Sunderland (H)
West Ham (FA Cup) (A)
Aston Villa (A)
Augsburg (A)
Augsburg (H)
Man City (Cap. One Final)

Candidate:                        Rating:                   Games played:

Kolo Toure                             6.3                         4 (started 2)
Lucas Leiva                            6.5                         5 (started 4)
Philippe Coutinho                   6.6                         5
James Milner                          6.1                         7 (started 6)
Roberto Firmino                     6.2                         6

And the winner is..........    PHILIPPE COUTINHO... Umm… to be honest I didn’t even half expect him to win this one, but those are the scores. We usually have the same winner as the official awards but not this time I guess. I expect Firmino to win the official one again.

Liverpool V Man Utd - Europa 1st Leg

Mignolet - 6 - if he has nothing to do probably deserves a 6
Clyne - 8 - agree with CR
Lovren - 7 - spree with CR
Sakho - 8 - looks super awkward as always but still played a great game frothed back
Moreno - 7 - did alright
Can - 7 - looked solid
Henderson - 6 - starting to look like the poorest player in the team
Lallana - 8 - was always involved, starting to look like a proper playmaker
Coutinho - 7 - not his best game but I still like him
Firmino - 8 - finally seen some effective moves and pace by him. Turning and accelerating away. Didn't lose the ball as much.
Sturridge - 6 - good penalty. But other than that looked like he wasn't in the game. Looked tired as well.

Subs

Allen - 7
Origi - 6 not much time to affect the game
