Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby RED BEERGOGGLES » Sun Jan 17, 2016 9:31 pm

Mignolet 6 Nothing to do apart from nothing he could have done
Clyne 5 Poor start ,weaker ending
Toure 7 Defended well and intercepted a pass that would have found Martial looking Mignolet directly in the eye.
Sakho 8 Our best defender ,and got himself forward to support our set pieces.
Moreno 6 Did what he had to do ,but was disappointed he didn't provide the usual threat down the flanks
Lucas 9 He gets the extra point for sticking the head on the afro with legs ,the rest account for his total control of the midfield.
Can 5 Jaded would be an apt description ,mentally and physically spent would be another.
Hendo  3 snaked his way out of tackles all over the pitch ,its little wonder he never left trails similar to those left by slugs.
Lallana 3 Gifted license to roam ,and yet overcomplicates what should be a relatively simple role to play.
Milner 8 Thought he was brilliant earlier ,up for the fight and involved in our best passages of play.
Firmino 8 Gave his all in terms of battling ,and produced moments for those fans with clarity of thought to process his game intelligence accordingly.

MINGOLET - 6 didn't have much to do and couldn't be blamed for the goal
CLYNE - 6 thought he had a good first half but one or two mistakes crept into his game later on
TOURE - 7 played really well, him and Sakho even managed to pull off a couple of Bobby Moore v Jairzinho type tackles
SAKHO - 8.5 along with Lucas my MoM
MORENO - 6 played well
LUCAS - 8.5 one of his best displays in a red shirt I thought
HENDERSON - 5 worked hard to get into good positions but you cannot waste so many decent chances against a top side
CAN - 6 he looked shattered at the hour mark but he rallied to lead our attack in the last 10 minutes with some surging runs into United's box and strikes from distance.
LALLANA - 5 the epitome of a nearly man
MILNER - 7 a bit like Lallana in the sense that nothing seems to come of his endeavours but he's so whole hearted it's hard not to like him
FIRMINO - 8 for the second game in succession he looked like the £30m player we thought we were originally getting

Liverpool V Exeter - FA CUP - Wednesay 20th Jan 2016

Mignolet - 5- nothing to do
Randall - 6 - hot prospect
Ilori - 6 - played well, good distribution
Enrique - 5 - not much to do, just seemed to smash the ball up field
Smith - 8 - very, very impressive player, has to be pushing Moreno for first team spot now
Allen - 8 - had a really impressive game, pleased for him
Brannagan - 7 - some really good passing, hot prospect
Stewart - 6.5 - looked decent in midfield, gave the ball away a couple of times
Texiera - 7 - he could go either way, could be the next Coutinho or the next Suso... This is a massive season for him
Ibe - 8 - back on form, so unlucky his shot never crossed the line
Benteke - 4 - although he did show more movement, he missed a header from 3 yards out and bumbled another one on one

Subs...

Flanagan - 7 - just for being back
Ojo - 8.5 - cracking goal, this boy must be close to first team, start him against Norwich
Chirivella - 6 - some really neat passing, another hot prospect

Mignolet  5 Pipe and slippers time ,and what little got through was brushed away with contempt by the classy Ilori.
Randall  6  Solid enough ,looked older than his tender years.
Ilori  8 Composed throughout ,never perturbed enough to rush a pass and distributed the ball with real aplomb ,classy defender.
Enrique  5 Weakest link in defence and  looked for all the world like  he was still wearing his Xmas jumper under his team shirt given his excess bulk.
Smith  8 He really looks a real find ,rapid pace and devilishly deceptive crossing.
Allen  7 Looked like the old Joe last night
Brannagan 8 He's going to be a real player this kid ,battles like Lucas and throws himself into tackles like Gerrard .
Stewart  5  I wasn't that impressed with his gloves ,and I suspect that coloured my opinion of his performance ,but he seriously under hit a lot of passes.
Texiera  8 Like Ilori he just oozes confidence and looks a real classy player.
Ibe - 7 Best game for a while ,unlucky with the shot that struck underneath of  the crossbar.
Benteke 6 I didn't think he was as bad as people and pundits made out ,perhaps guilty of wanting it to all fall in place too quickly ,lovely pass to Joao.

Mignolet – 6 – nothing to do
Randall - 6 – solid enough
Ilori - 7 – not much to do but showed his composure and pace on a few occasions
Enrique - 6 - not much to do but you can tell by the positions he takes he can’t play CB
Smith - 8 – excellent going forward. Need to see him tested from a defensive point of view.
Allen - 8 – played like he had a point to prove and he succeeded
Brannagan – 7.5 – another good performance. Good technical ability and sees the picture.
Stewart - 6 – Being a defender by trade does the dirty work well but not good enough on the ball to play midfield.
Texiera – 7.5 – Another good performance. Prepared to turn in tight spaces and try to create.
Ibe - 6 – We went through him a lot but I thought he was wasteful and he continues to show poor decision making.
Benteke - 5 – Looks completely devoid of confidence. Chin in chest when things go wrong just like at Villa.
"We’ve got a lot of Cockneys in the team, but really, it doesn’t matter where they’re from – we’re all playing for Liverpool.” Robbie Fowler

Migs - 6 - Didn't concede (10/10)
Randall - 6 - Looks ok, but glad we have Flanno back now.
Ilori - 7 - Better this game, still don't think he will cut the mustard here.
Enrique - 6.5 - Decent game.
Smith - 9 - Bias aside, I really rate this kid.
Allen - 8.5 - Very good game from Pirlo.
Brannagan - 7 - Decent delivery on him, not shy on set pieces and corners either. Would like to see him feature more but who does he jump?
Stewart - 6 - Didn't really notice him.
Teixeria - 8.5 - Really rate this kid. Hope we get him on a new deal.
Ibe - 6 - Don't rate him at all.
Benteke - 6 - Nice assist.

Subs

Scoouse Cafu - 7 - As said, just for making it back.
Ojo - 8 - Rate this kid as well. Looks the player. Cheeky finish.
Chirivella - 6.5 - Looks a player, hopefully a loan stint to see what he can do.

Norwich V Liverpool - EPL - Saturday 23rd January 2016

Mignolet - 4- no improvement
Clyne - 4 - pretty dire today
Toure - 4 - not great
Sakho - 4 - sloppy beyond belief, at fault for at least 1 goal
Moreno - 3 - worst game for us today and that penalty he gave away was so stupid
Can - 5 - lots of puff but no end product
Lucas - 6 - better of the central midfielders but still not great
Henderson - 5 - looked off his game today
Milner - 6 - took his goal very well
Ibe - 6 - one or two really good run's but nowhere near good enough today
Firmino - 9 - a real talent, took his 2 goals really well, a class above the rest

Subs...

Caulker - 5 - nothing to say
Lallana - 7 - changed the game when we were 3-1 down, scored the winner
Benteke - 4 - dross

Mignolet - 4- he will never learn to go for crosses
Clyne - 4 - has just gotten worse as the season has gone on
Toure - 4 - so poor
Sakho - 4 - when will the hype go down?
Moreno - 3 - poor and stupid
Can - 5 - energy but too much of a headless chicken
Lucas - 5 - sigh, just not good enough for a team looking at the top
Henderson - 6 wasn't great but scored an all important goal
Milner - 6 - same as Henderson
Ibe - 5 - just runs into blind alleys
Firmino - 9 - at another skill level compared to the rest

Subs...

Caulker - 5 - well, he is an option...
Lallana - 8 - one of his best games for us even if he came on as a sub
Benteke - 5 - how much of a loss will we make on him?

Don't really know how to rate the players after this crazy game but here goes

Mignolet - 5 - can't really be blamed but he conceded 4 goals without having a single save today
Clyne - 5 - dreadful as the rest of the defence but had his contributions going forward
Toure - 4 - poor
Sakho - 4 - likewise
Moreno - 3 - like I've always said, enthusiastic, hard worker, but the lad is brain-dead
Lucas - 6.5 - thought he did well overall today but fell asleep at crucial times
Can - 5
Henderson - 6.5 - could have done better defensively, but played well when he had the ball and scored an important goal
Milner - 6.5 - thought he was pretty poor as usual but gets a point plus for the equalizing goal
Ibe - 5
Firmino - 8.5 - scored twice and assisted once. Also probably the only player who we can say that was faultless today

Subs:
Lallana - 8 - changed the game and scored the winning goal
Benteke - 5
Caulker - N/A

MINGOLET - 5 thought he could have done better with Naysmiths goal
CLYNE - 5 thought the entire defence was ropey today
SAKHO - 5 didn't cover himself in glory with their first
TOURE - 6 did okay
MORENO - 4 lost the plot for their pen
LUCAS - 6 did okay
CAN - 5 bit quiet today I thought
MILNER - 6 limited player but does try his heart out, nice goal
HENDERSON - 6 ditto
IBE - 6 I thought he was a bit unfortunate to be taken off but Klopp was proven right
FIRMINO - 8 MoM by a mile, that's 3 games on the bounce now that he's been arguably our best player

Migs - 4 - Terrible.
Clyne - 4 - Really disappointing lately.
Toure - 4 - We need better. Very passionate though.
Sakho - 4 - Shocker. He will bounce back.
Moreno - 2 - Brain dead. I want him replaced.
Can - 5 - Ball watching as Naismith ran passed him.
Lucas - 5.5 - Ball watching on the Naismith goal but he worked hard after
Hendo - 6 - Looks unfit and injured.
Milner - 7 - Good game by Jimmy.
Ibe - 5 - Another game gifted for no return
Firmino - 9 - Turning into a worldy.

Subs

Caulker - 6 - Always seems to be involved in something in the dying stages
Lallana - 8 - Changed the game. FINALLY.
Benteke - 5 - Cut the losses on this guy.
