So what that means we could draw them? Who cares. We beat them home and away last season and we will do it again if need be.
Bav, Im not saying we should be worried.
But you'll se when the groups are finished, that they will be one
of the better teams to come 2nd.
We dont want to make this any harder.
From a happy clappy point of view, I'm happy to have the harder match. THe CL is only interesting if we win it, this season we must focus on the league, so I don't care reaching semifinals or quarter of finals. So if there's a team clearly superior to us, I want to face them ASAP. If they're better than us, then focus in the league. If we're better, the toughest rival out.

I only saw the second half and from what I saw the lads did okay, up until our first goal I noticed Carra had the urge almost every given opportunity to pump the ball long. Egg Nog was the target man for these long balls, but his touch, control and passing let him down at times. He took his goal really well mind you so at least he does know where the net is, but he needs to improve on his all round game. Keane worked really hard, he pi$$ed me off with his constant moaning at teamates, refs and the like. He played a good ball through to Egg Nog for his goal, and I agree with Barry that at times he looks a little to intelligent for the players around him. He does make the runs, his movement is good but the likes of Babel and N'gog didnt have the vision or pass to pick him out. Rieras goal was a beauty, hopefully his form will pick up a bit now.
Lucas did well from what I saw tonight/this morning, that will help his confidence no end, good to see the likes of Darby, Spearing and Kelly get a run out to. Dossena didnt look too bad either.
Considering this was pretty much a second string side the lads did really well, but I dont think we should be getting carried away with the fact that we know have "options". PSV are a shower, and most of these same lads would struggle against the likes of Hull I think, but still they couldnt do anymore than they did, they won, they did show great character and it was nice to see the second string come in for once and get a job done.
Well done lads.

We can only beat what's in front of us though and it was a good team performance. The defence played well as a unit. Dossena had his best game yet in a Liverpool shirt. Agger, Carra and Arbeloa had decent games too.
In midfield Riera was the best player on the pitch in the first half, but as usual he faded badly second half, with literally his only contribution of the half being his superb goal. Babel threatened but as usual largely failed to deliver. I do think he looked better on the right though than he does on the left. His goal was decent but the goalkeeper flapped it has to be said. I also thought Lucas played his best game for us that I've seen. Got his foot in and his distribution was good too. Mascherano didn't have his best game.
Up front both Ngog and Keane got better as the game went on. Neither were great first half, but second half Ngog held the ball up better and Keane's movement was good. Keane did everything but score and his vision to set up Ngog for the goal and shortly after Lucas was top class.
Overall very satisfying and of the lads who came on I think Darby acquitted himself best. Didn't look out of place.

Agree with everything you've said except for the Dossena bit, John. He looked back to his usual tricks tonight after an encouraging performance against Blackburn. Completely out of position on several occasions and offered very little going forward apart from one good cross.
But, I'd rather focus on the positives. A nice team performance from the "reserves" after a flat opening half hour. Lucas had a strong game by his recent standards. Babel finally scored, which largely makes up for his c.ack decision making for most of the rest of the game. Keane had a mare of first half but helped boss the show in the second. Riera showed that he has the shot to trouble keepers from distance and that could be an important weapon for us moving forward. And, of course, it was fantastic to see the three young lads get a run out in Europe and play well. All in all, a good night at the office and a nice result to boost a few of the lads' confidence.

You mean Dossenna against West Ham mate, not blackburn
