Yeah the announcer said that his body language looked like it was saying something along the lines of I set you up for a goal but no one ever looks to put me through for one.

Exactly , that where's maturity comes into play , stevie was in babel's position , he would have played keane in , same for xabi and riera . Babel got excitited and took the shot on , ngog as well a couple of times .

We want an easy draw - its plain n simple

great result. Not just because we won 3-1, but we also got some of our reserve players involved, and English ones at that!

I can't remember the last time i saw 3 ENGLISH lads from our youth system came on and played well. It's great to see and Darby looks a real promising right back.

Good to see some of the youngsters get on the field.   I thought Lucas played quite well today- he looked a bit more stronger today and not get easily knocked off the ball.

All in all a job well done.  Keane worked hard- he was enjoying the 2nd half (shame he didn't get the service in the first half), only wished he'd got a goal.

Glad that Gerrard and Alonso didn't come on.  At least this sort off showed that we have some other options now.

This game means a lot more to PSV than to us because PSV and Marseille are still fighting for that 3rd spot.  Although we qualified for the last 16 it doesn't mean this game is useless, because we are still 2nd because we are one behind of Atletico Madrid on goal difference.

Atletico Madrid: 9 GF  4 GA
Liverpool:         8 GF  4 GA

Marseille are a much stronger team than PSV, so with the right lineup I can see us grabbing the first spot.  I don't want to see an extremely strong line up, but due to injuries and interesting champions league registered squad it's a bit tricky to pick.

                 Reina
Arbeloa   Carra    Agger    Dossena

Pennant   Lucas    Alonso  Riera

          Babel      Keane

Strange team but; Gerrard, Kuyt and mascherano will get some rest, Keane will get some playtime, and Babel Pennant and Lucas will have another chance to prove their worth.  I also want to see Benayoun come in at some point.

I also think there is not a chance in hell Rafa will select this team.

If we can get off to a good start and start the scoring early, I see this being another 1-3 or a 0-2.

good team but i can't see rafa playing 4-4-2 and defo can't seeing him playing babel up front what ever reason he don't think he is striker.

Personaly this is game rafa needs to take a punt and play him as striker but who knows.  ???

Result isn't that important but i think we win 3-1.  :)

:D I win 3-1 get in hahahaha  :D

that and ciggys piles i am on fire today.  :p

Job done, good game and a good result after going 1-0 down! :)
Good performance, some of our passing was a bit sloppy at times especially in 1st half but thats to be expected when they were practically a team of strangers.

I felt sorry for Keane again tonight.Sometimes I feel he is to intelligent for the players around him.A good few times tonight he made excellent runs, staying onside getting into space, but unfortunately the players on the ball only seemed to have the goal in mind. They need to start getting their heads up and looking around them more rather than going for glory.Better performance from Keane and a shame he just could'nt get that goal...I hope he gets on against Hulll.Hopefully Rafa will play 4-4-2 with him and Kuyt upfront, cause neither are any use alone.
3 goals again as well..looks like we are finding our shooting boots again!

On flip side babel looked more confident tonight which he hasn't done for a while so i don't blame him for having pop's at goal its an improvement and one i seen comming.

He does tho still try to hard and bring pressure onto him self but like i say 100 times before he is young and will learn he just needs games.

can anyone see the players giving rafa a selection headache?
i thought we played ok, the players who had a point to prove didnt exactly stand out.
Babel seems a better player on the right though he is very selfish at times.
Riera was full of tricks as usual. Mash was commited as ever.
Ngog was invisible throughout the entire match till he scored.
Keane was trying too hard but i thought he didnt play as bad as it seems.
Lucas played well too im delighted for him.
i like the look of Agger in defence as he brings the ball out of play alot and creates.
