Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

i guess the atmosphere could also be due to the uncertainty of the club's future. for example, if it was any other day i would be delighted with the result but after all that has been going on, i could only afford a smile. i feel very guarded as if something bad is gonna happen sometime soon to take away the shine. i blame the yanks for this gloom.

Mate IMO that was something that would ollect a silver at the Beijing olympicas.

Only spotty could get Golds  :D

I hope after watching him yesterday, this talk about us possibly signing Bentley in the summer are put to bed. He's a good player but nothing special.

I for one do sing at every single game, because every game is important and deserves to be treated as big as Barcelona even if it is Derby. The arguement about the non-scousers rings truth, but is also total bollox at the same time. My lad brought his missus today from N.Ireland (he lives over there now) and she was just as vocal as me and him, whereas me nephew (a scouser) was stood silent. So it's not just scousers who make the noise or non-scousers who are silent, but there is a difference between the two.

I'm not saying I love the club anymore than anyone else, but it's different for a scouser to someone from Derbyshire for example. Scousers are surrounded by Liverpool and Everton all day. There's no getting away from it. Wherever you go, football is in your face, it's that kind of city. Just like it's different for a Bristol City fan to live in Liverpool than Bristol. If City lose he doesn't get the stick off the Rovers fans if he's in Liverpool, just like the fella from Derbyshire doesn't get the aggro off Evertonians (or as much aggro) as a scouser would get. As for fans from abroad, well they are mainly glory hunters, who don't realise what this club has been built on over the years. They may know the names of Shankly, Paisley and so on, but they don't know the truth behind the stories. Sorry if that offends anyone, which undoubtedly it will, but that's the truth.

okay john I'm getting seriously worried now as i cant find anything to disagree with in your post. I must either be ill or someone is using your computer to post for you  :D

1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

Just a thought , i wonder if the lack of atmosphere in the league games along with the fantastic atmosphere at the CL games is being directly reflected in the results on the pitch,  imo it is and if this is the case then surley the debate about the cause of the flat as a pancake atmosphere  becomes even more important to get to the bottom of.?

The should bring in after match refs and automatic ban for players found to be diving.

I know Gerrard isn't the only diver in the league but I really hate seeing it.

He's a handy sub - like Crouch.... but would get more game time  :D

When he narrowly missed that free kick yesterday, my mate said to me, "Well, he won't need to worry about that next season, Gerrard is our specialist"   :;):

Is it really diving though, he won th ball, them the GK made contact

he made the most of the situation and to be fair was probably looking for it, but he certinatly wasnt pretending to be caught

you really shouldn't be allowed to post anymore. some will think that's a bit rich coming from me, but it has to be said. what a stupid thing to say, "crappy goal" it was a goal for Liverpool Football Club, the club you're meant to support, so how can it be "crappy" If it comes down to goal difference and there's one in it, will it be "crappy" then.

get a clue. just because you don't like somebody as a player, there's no reason to slag him off at every given chance and try and take away what he achieved.

i'd rather voronin didn't score if it meant his chances of playing for us more often are increased because he's useless.
Steve Gerrard Gerrard,
He'll pass the ball 40 yards,
He's quick and he's f*cking hard,
Steve Gerrard Gerrard.

And I bet you would rather have a dream of losing your virginity rather than actually losing it. Your comments are daft beyond belief. Rather the team suffer then the player contribute?

Why all so negative? We beat a good team, played brilliantly in the 2nd half and Benayoun was fantastic. If critisism is required at least make it constructive.

:suspect:
Blackburn, "good" the other day ? They were cack, mate...
And though I welcome the result, can't say we were overly convincing..
I have to say though, I looked at the Manure-Arsenal game afterwards and was green with envy with who the Mancs could bring on from the bench. Quality in depth.
Considering both LFC and the Mancs played in the CL midweek, only one of them looked knackered on Sunday
