Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Toffeehater » Thu Apr 10, 2008 6:17 pm

Well its thursday already and no match thread
Ok , i'd expect alot of changes by rafa and i hope he plays his best side against blackburn as 4th spot is still not ours yet

Reina

Finnan           Skrtel         Carra             Riise

                   Lucas         Plessis

Kuyt                                                  Babel

                           Gerrard

                            Torres

I'd like to see plessis get another game . I'm going for a hard fought 2-0 win , kuyt and torres

Babel played amazing against Arsenal, so if the team can play that kind of football against Blackburn, I can see the score going as high as 4-0, with a hat trick to Torres  :D.

Interesting formation, knowing Rafa it's possible.

I think rafa will stick to the same formation he used against arsenal and play crouch again up front with torres

Must win game, this.  No resting on laurels or coasting--we need to make the Bitters a dot in our rearview before we lock horns with Chelsea again.

I would definitely rest Torres for this one, he looked absolutely knackered against Arsenal, and the last thing he needs is the heavy mob from Blackburn kicking seven colours of sh!te out of him.

                  Reina

Finnan/Arbeloa       Carra      Skrtle      Riise

Pennant    Alonso        Lucas           Babel

                 Crouch   Voronin

Or if we go 4-5-1 Gerrard instead of Voronin. BTW what the fks happened to Kewell ?

Didn't he do his groin again whilst off on some training jolly with Australia?  I think you're gonna have to face it, mate, we've probably seen the last of Harry in a red shirt.

kewell isn't fit, I don't think Pennant is either.  Also Plessis played today, I don't think that he will play on Saturday too. Certainly Lucas could play though

Here is my team:
                            Reina
Finnan      Carra                 Skrtel        Riise
               Alonso              Lucas
   Yossi                                             Babel
                            Gerrard
                            Torres

Originally thought that Torres would need a rest, but when you think about it, Crouch has played more in the last 8 days that Nando has, so unless your pro delayed gazelle theory  :D   (or if you rate crouch higher  :p  )  then you have to  pick Torres

Reina
Finnan  Carra  Skrtel  Riise
         Plessis Lucas
Benayoun   Gerrard  Babel
              Crouch

Weakened team maybe but it should enough to beat Blackburn. Lucas, Babel, Riise, Finnan, Yossi all fresh. Torres needs a rest. 2-0.

Oh and I havent picked Kuyt cos hes running the Marathon the same day, cant expect too much from the lad :D

That's what I'd go with.  Torres definitely needs a rest.
