agree he was brilliant tonight.
if he has a good tournament then its a cert he will attract the attention of barca or real.
i really hope he stays as he's matured into a very good player for us and he will suit rodgers style.

all over the back of the echo it`s saying liverpool are in a real fight to try and keep hold of agger, apparently barcelona`s new manager has come out and said they are interested in signing him.
liverpool arent welcoming any offers for him but they think one is imminent, once barcelona put an offer in for a player they usually get their man.
gutted.

Yea I'd be really upset if we lost him.  I'm a big fan of Agger, one of my favorite LFC players.  Rumor is 15 euros, which isn't enough in my opinion.

this is the problem that rodgers faces in trying to convince players to stay here.i doubt any of our best players are willing to hang around for another few years to make the cl.
agger loves the club though and hopefully he will stick around and give the manager a chance.
that fee of €15mil is a joke if true.

yeah mate, the manager saying in a press conference the other day that the fans have got to get real and this is a long term project probably hasnt helped. rodgers saying 4 years is a realistic timeframe for us to start genuinely competing for the CL places (and he may not be at the club to see his plan come to fruition) is not exactly what players agger`s and skrtel`s age want to hear.

If he has 2 years i would tell him he is staying if that's all we are being offered.

Thats not bad for a injury prone defender with 2 years left on the contract.

I hope we can get him to sign another contract though.

losing agger but bringing in the likes of borini and dempsey?
the person at the club that we most need a MoM performance from is the PR man who`s job it is to convince the rest of the footballing world that we are a club with ambition thats going places.

if barca officially state their interest i wouldn't be surprised if agger submits a transfer request within days. you don't often get the chance to play for what is popularly considered to be the best team ever, and very very few players would let the chance slip. i don't know how he would squeeze into the first 11 straight away with puyol and pique being pretty much undroppable though. i wouldn't be surprised to see him go but i'd be absolutely gutted. once we start letting any more of our top players slip away then we are really looking at a long term project to get anywhere back near the top.

I'm afraid you're probably right.  However I think he could slip right in with Pique.  Puyol hasn't been playing that much with Masch dropping in as a CB at times.  Puyol is getting really old and starting to have problems, so I could see Agger as his immediately replacement.

I would hate for him to go, but if he does end up going to Barca and does so in a respectful way, then I'll only wish him the best.

thats about £13mil stg which is very little for a top defender who is only 27.
agger is a player that will excel under rodgers and will love the freedom to play with the ball at his feet, his partnership with skyrtel last year was brilliant and its important that remains.
lots of players struggle with injuries and tbh agger has had his fair share but barca dont seem deterred by that.he has 2 years remaining and for that kind of money id rather we kept him here and hopefully he will buy into rodgers plan and sign a new deal.
just because its barca doesnt mean we have to sell and accept any figure they offer.

Ofcourse not and i hope we dont.
But if its Barca and if agger wants to go we might not be able to stop him.
