that was awful  :(  never mind weve had tough fixtures etc.. its the WAY we are playing thats :censored:. i mean, first half it was the sami and crouchy show! it aint working these 40/50 yard hoofs! up to him, if there aint no one anticipating the flick ons.
second half we went at em and it looked far more effective?? why dont we just do that way FIRST ffs!!
its hard to say it, but rafa is going to have to take this one squarely on the jaw. but, positives being the fashion at the moment.......it is, YET another away point? ????? dont know if im too pleased with that. when clearly today we couldnt look ar5ed to bag all 3 until it was too late.
IMO zenden along with cisse and the "forever potentially good" pongolle arent good enough..
as for chelsea on wednesday?  i darent think....at 5 o'clock today theyre gonna be light years away already.. :(

Rock i never even implied that we will win all of our match this season that we won last what i did say is that results so far show a trend & that is very obvious we might not be playing the free flowing football yet but we are an improved team the rersults show that give the side a break

I agree. But we need to WIN games. At the end of the season, points counts.Fingers crossed that we'll be winning the upcoming matches to catch up with the top 3.On top of that,we've 2 games in hand so that ain't so bad.

we should have won today - after goinf 1-0 up, te look on Benitez's face when we were suddenly 2-1 done said everything to me. Basically the system that won La Liga for Valencia won't work here. Valencia would have won that game 1-0, partly because the opposition would have given up. In the EPL, the opposition will NEVER give up. Having said that, I still don't know how we contrived to let 2 goals in like that - we started this season by being impossible to score against, and we go and give goals away through feeble defending - why? Its better than last season in that we would have lost, after going behnid - and we certainly wouldn't have got the luck of a corner that should have been a goal kick, leading up to the pen. At least Birmingham didn't outclass us this time. People complained about negative attitudes at the beginning of the season, and I was in the negative camp after we failed tosign our key targets - I still think that if we had bought a quality right midfielder, we would be vastly better than we are, and IMO today's game proves my point. We didn't have quality on either flank today  - Zenden isn't good enough on the left either. When we get those extra players, we will be able to challenge to so called top 3 - until then we are going to have to suffer today's type of games.

He is :censored::

1. He made some crosses because he had plenty of time. He had enough time because Birmingham attacked without defending in last 10 minutes. With that length of time he had, you could cross the ball better than him.

2. He can't dribble, just can't.

3. He missed a great chance 15 yards from the goal at 88 minutes---the poorest goal attempt this season.

i really don't want to see zenden play no more for us.... We got rid of biscan...we got rid of smicer.....we got rid of nunez...and all of them are better midfielders than zenden....

I think that award goes to Peter Crouch and his joke attempt at a free header

Good point, yes we still hav e afew games in hand. Im sure we will start winning soon. We were unlucky not to win if it wasnt for Warnocks own goal. I hope Rafa can see that Zenden is no good for us .

dont start on the "fantastic desire to get back to the top level after serious injury" debate.. thats well known and well received.
its the sulking/flapping arms/looking daggers at team mates cisse that im judging him on... lose all that, and actually SHOW some of the bottle that we know he obviously has, play him in his most effective role, and...... he just 'might' be good enough.....at the moment he's not. and that has to be down to either lack of man management on rafa's part? or djibril cisse just being 'not all that good' ???

ill agree with you though about today he didnt play too "crappy".  yeah, he had a good last 20 mins or whatever...against BCFC!!!   ffs.  until he's (given the chance)? to do that against tougher opposition, well never know...

:no

Oh, yes, I forgot that one . Today's poorest finishes:

1 Crouch

2 Cisse

3 Riise

ok..i agree we look much better defensively....but as a attacking force we look much worse than last season.

I am not slatting the team for the sake of it. But when we decide to play..we can take birmingham apart...That is what pi$$es me.... Playing this way against the scums...i can understand. But against birmingham (with the team they put out)....well...
