I saw Liverpool play Fulham live in an Asian Trophy preseason tourney years ago in HK. Portsmouth also played, as did South China (a HK club team).
I remember being very impressed with the small but vocal block of Pompey fans, real good fun. Fulham had about three supporters, all sitting primly near the front, their pasty white bankers limbs sticking out of their shorts and replica shirts.
No idea if that is a representative group of Fulham fans, but fortunately at least one of the Fulham players spotted them and gave them a clap.
We need to get 3 points tonight, as we head into a packed Christmas programme with a thin squad. I read that Rodgers is thinking he needs to rest Sterling and Allen, but he's not quite sure who to replace them with. Perhaps he hasn't noticed Suso, Assaidi, Cole, Downing, Shelvey and Sahin on the training pitch of late. We've got a run of winnable games ahead and after the Villa debacle the team will be wanting to set things right tonight, and that is exactly what I'm expecting from whatever team he fields.
No disrespect to Fulham and their fans, but I expect we'll get back on track tonight. A scrappy 1-0 win.
