Is tha right - perhaps this forum needs to take stock and ask itself, why Rafa is being pursued by others, while fans on here seem intent on ousting him .. that is the biggests pile of p'ooh..

My opinion is he would walk to anfield.

By the way i think - while i dont want him. As a man manager he would get more out of the current set of players at this moment in time than our current manager.

Man management IMO is pure specualtion for fans as no one knows what goes on behind the scenes , its all guess work from people. For all we know Rafa could be a great man manager to the main players .Players like Torres,Pepe,Masher ,Carra dont seem to have any complaints about his man management style - the only ones that have done are the players that have been shipped out .

Motivation and man management are definately not Rafa's strengths at all.
I am not even going to bother debating that with you.

Genuinely if you think they are you are just arguin for the sake of it.
Encouragement and praise is not something Rafa does, Carra and Stevie have said that repeatedly.

Oh im not saying they arent his strengths but not as poor as some suggest . Oh and both Gerrard both state in their books he encourages but offers small praise in the hope they strive for more praise from him .

That's a guess saying he would hope they strive for more praise.
He is cold with the players - the opposite to a good motivator.

Benny The Noon wrote:But it's a comment which gets the same answer from people - "because we are Liverpool , big club etc " . That sort of comment doesn't hold much truth at the moment mainly because of our wonderful owners and the lack of any money availably without having to sell . IMO the top managers including people like O Neill aren't going to touch us with bargepole , let's be realistic about it . I know that comment will infuriate a few people but it's a home truth that gets ignored . We are no longer an attractive club for managers and even players at this present time .

Well i think you are totally wrong.

The oweners would make us less appealing thats for sure but the Aston Villa manager would imo jump at the chance to move to one of the biggest and most successful clubs in the world.

BUT his current club are at present standing much stronger than us and that counts a lot more than any past history or successes - the history and previous success only matters to the fans .

they may well be in a stronger position in the league but do a like for like on the make up of the team Liverpool are by a long chalk far more qwality than villa. fact.

So if Oneil can get good results with his current team imagine what he could do with our team?

also, look at our history of managers - we got the best results/trophy hauls with the 'british' managers. (Shanks, Bob, Fagan, Dalglish - forget souey & evans)

O'Neil is our man.

Well it seems a good guess as that is what Gerrard mentions in his book "I will strive to get that congrats/well done from Rafa". Also how do we know he is cold - cold is a very harsh word and totally opposite from what Pepe , Masher and Torres have all stated - with all of them saying he is warm towards them

Right i think i agree with Ben here for the most part . Think O'neil would walk to anfield with broken legs to be honest . He's had a good wedge to spend at villa so the working witha budget bit is a nonsense . Anyway i think he'll be the complete opposite of rafa . Very hands on on the man management , loves the media spotlight . Does not do rotation , infact plays his players until they drop . Likes wide men witha big man in the middle , likes the long ball . All that is fine i think , just honestly don't know if he is tactically savvy . We'll have to wait and see i suppose , if he comes.

The players are overpaid and pampered enough - Capello has instilled the discipline in the Engerland dressing room - ain't no pally pally attitude there and it's been very effective - Rafa is in the same mould and that suits today's players, if ya good enuff get on with it !

As for motivation - Istanbul - the biggets kick 'ar'se motovation ever !

Rafael Benitez's agent denies deal done with Juventus
By Dan Roan

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez
Benitez is struggling to get Liverpool back into the Champions League

Rafael Benitez's agent has told BBC Sport reports the Liverpool boss has agreed a deal to take over Serie giants Juventus are "absolutely false".

According to reports in Italy, the Turin side are poised to secure the Spaniard on a four-year contract.

But Manuel Quillon Garcia denied that was the case, insisting: "There is no agreement with anyone."

He also denied meeting Juve director Roberto Bettega in Monte Carlo this week to discuss Benitez's future.

BBC Sport understands Benitez is one of several possible candidates Juventus want to succeed Alberto Zaccheroni at the Stadio Olimpico this summer.

However, Benitez's pay demands, and the fact he would want to bring several of his backroom staff with him, could cause difficulties.

606: DEBATE
Rafael Benitez looks set to leave Anfield, but will the Liverpool fans be shedding tears?

TT Gooner

There has been no contact between Liverpool and Juventus, with the Reds privately sceptical the Italian club could afford to buy the manager out of his lucrative contract, which still has four years to run.

Juventus have refused to comment on speculation their president Jean-Claude Blanc will fly to Liverpool this week in an attempt to lure Benitez away from Anfield after six years in charge.

Benitez is preparing Liverpool for the second leg of their Europa League semi-final against Atletico Madrid at Anfield on Thursday.

He wants to stay at Anfield but is yet to meet the club's new chairman, Martin Broughton.

Talks are planned for this week, when Benitez's future and the club's summer transfer plans will be discussed.

How those discussions go will depend on whether Liverpool have clinched another season in Champions League football.

They currently lie seventh in the Premier League, two points adrift of Tottenham in fourth but having played a game more.

The Reds entertain Chelsea on Sunday before finishing their league campaign with an away match at Hull on 9 May.

Juve, who appointed Zaccheroni as head coach in January after sacking Ciro Ferrara, are sixth in Serie A, six points off a Champions League spot with three games remaining.

They kept alive their faint hopes of qualifying for Europe's top club competition by beating Bari 2-0 at the weekend.

So it seems the papers were taalking absolute bullsh.it then - who would of thought that ?! But i thought lakes said meetings with Juve were happening ?

Just over a week ago Benitez's agent Manuel Garcia Quilon claimed an unnamed Chinese investor was interested in taking over the club and had already spoken to the manager about keeping him on next season.

Benitez subsequently denied Quilon's claims

I wouldn't trust Rafa's agent as far as I could throw him Benny. Agents LIE for their clients..... just in case you wern't aware of that fact?
