Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Unfortunately if this is true it seems like very difficult offer for rafa to refuse. Well I guess at last we will be able to see who the new manager will be and what he will do differently.

from what i know the first deal given to Rafa  was a few weeks back after some talks with his PA team, even then it seemes he was going to say yes, but Rafa team did not feel it was the right time for him to come out and say yes due to the games that are coming up. he would have had to say yes by the weekend.

now this new deal has the offer of  £175m to sped and he has the time to get the games out of the way then say yes.

I think it would be hard for any mamager to turn a deal like that down.

as i have said before, most of the press have been 100% he would not be here next year for a very long time. they just did not have the guts to say it on tv or to print it in the press.

last week something changed...i now get the feeling that Rafa might have given word that he was going to take the deal and in that it would not matter thathis PA team had been in talks.....he could not now get sacked as he is leaving.......thats just my take on it anyway.

Rafa is an excellent engineer he would be great in the computer and design world - unfortunently players aren't Robots and the game has a flow of it's own ,feelings and passion which Rafa is not programmed to cope with.

Bye Bye

See, this is what makes me laugh at times. How the f*ck can anyone on an internet forum say that the man is lousy at money management, a lousy scout? Scout? It's not his f*cking job to scout. That's why you have people called "scouts" you know that do that particular job. A lousy players coach? Ask Mascherano, Pepe Reina and Torres about that? That's right, you can't. Down at Melwood every day, are you? Speak to the players during training? No. Wrong ideology when it comes to football? Right, Special One! I take it you've managed a football club and won bigger honours, then?

I don't mind it when someone actually comes out and puts forward a knowledgable argument for their opinions, but it's absolute tripe like this that just does my head in.

See you are obssesed with me as i am with Rafa - guess we should both seek treatment....

Again you have no clue nor opinion when writing your posts..

Lousy money manager - paying 20++ for Keane , 20++ for injured Aqua not enough for you?

Lousy scout? well i assume he does go over the tapes and decideds who would come to Anfield doesn't he? Dossena ,Lucas ,Babel ,Keane ,Aurellio ,Arbeloa ,Skertel...all players with no impact no signture on the game...

Players manager...well havn't been to the dressing room (neither did you) but got some clues from Riera,Babel..others nor does Rafa character and behaviour prooves you the other way..

So i need to to coach a football club to know that i like attacking ,risk taking ,happy free football?? really guess all of us should shut up and bow down..

Talk to the point not to the person.

I see you're in here still gurning.

Here's the difference: I don't write posts 'pretending' that I know what I'm talking about regarding Rafa's man management, money handling, tactics etc etc. I am not a qualified football manager and nor would I, or YOU, have any clue about going about managing us either. To spout the absolute w@nk you just wrote is as presumptous as it is idiotic. It just makes you look like a complete tool. Which you are.

So why do you even bother posting here? The whole purpose of this board is to write opinions and ideas it's not as all of us are licensed football managers...You completely missed the plot on this one.

You are however a rude individual to say the least but hey it's a free forum, take care.

In general, such is life, if you ask a person a stupid question you're more often than not going to have it met by a stupid answer and deservedly so. If you write something that is offensive to me as a supporter of this football club, then you're going to be met with harsh rertort deserving of such antogonism. Write up your opinion all you want, but when it's inflammatory and downright antagonistic, don't find yourself so shocked when someone replies to it so "rudely" especially if you put forward such bile as if it were a matter of fact, which it is not. It's your opinion, albeit a very daft one based on little to no fact whatsoever.

"especially if you put forward such bile as if it were a matter of fact"

Try again - this time address the issue and not the person ,an no calling me a crying Kunt is at best moronic (at least i don't have to live with you)

Did or didn't Rafa sign an injured player for 20 million? Keane for 20+? Babel for 9 mil?

Riera said he was not alone in having communication problems with Benítez. "He thinks he is in charge and he just turns a deaf ear to everyone else," he told Radio Marca in Spain. "The dialogue with the players is practically non-existent. There is a lack of tact." - Was Riera in the dressing room ?

Pennant said. "Liverpool have had some great strikers come and go – Robbie Keane is scoring goals at Tottenham, Peter Crouch is scoring now. It didn't happen at Liverpool: it must be about how the manager relates to players, how the tactics are and how he restricts players - Was he in the Dressing room?

Scouting skills - again do you think Dossena ,Babel ,skertel ,Lucas ,Aurellio ,Arbeloa and on and on are a proof for good scouting?

Football ideology? is there a question Rafa likes to be in total command on the game and on the players? is it doubfull he is conservative in his approach to games and will always prefer defensive lineups? because if it is then we are seeing a total different football game...

Do your best to answer or just not..Take Care

I'll answer your question about this so called defensive ideaology that Rafa has regarding his style of football. Not only will I answer it, but I'll blow it out of the water by putting forward a FACT in saying that how can a team be so defensive, yet be the top scorers in all competitions for two seasons running? Do you remember Rafa's Valencia that played us under Houllier (now he was a defensive manager) that taught us a footballing lesson a few years back? I know I do and how I envied them for doing so.

Interesting how people with your style of argument about the manager always bring up quotations of former players that were shipped out due to them being either absolute sh*te or not taking the chance that came their way. Pennant is an absolute gobsh*te of a person, and not a single word that comes out of that mans mouth regarding us as a football club should be taken seriously. It's as if Pennant is some kind of Liverpool legend, like.

Facts :

This season we scored 57 so far  - we are playing with one striker only and almost all the time with 2 defensive CM.

2008/2009 - 77 goals  - first in the league - 2nd place
2007/2008 - 67 goals - 4th in the league - 4th place
2006/2007 - 57 goals - 4/5 in the league - 3rd place
2005/2006 - 57 goals - 4 in the league - 3rd place

Scoring ~1.7 goals a game - i wouldn't say it is a display for an attacking football - yes we score we have better players then most team we play against so we will score ,but when you look at pure formation on the field ,2 CB + 2 FB (only Johnson really attacks) + 2 Defensive Middfielder + 1 Kuyt which spends half his time in defensive missions what do you get? around 7-8 players dedicated to defence..

Might be his most recent transfers that are his undoing. They have been poor. £75 million could have been better spent than that. I know we have recouped some of that but still. Sotos is probably the best signing of the lot. Certainly Houlliers last signings contributed to his downfall. If Rafa's setting up a move to Juve for himself and his staff and we can get a top replacement (Capello is my choice) in I'll be happy enough. If it can happen without having to pay the £16 million to buy him out of his contract that would be even better.

However, one thing you can say about Jose's Inter...they're a damn sight more entertaining to watch than Rafael's Liverpool. I actually enjoyed watching Inter tonight.

I don't think I can say that about a Liverpool perfromance, for the better part of the last few seasons.

Then you are one of three things: clueless about football; lost the gift of sight; or your hatered for Benitez has made you absolutely f*cking ignorant. We've played some lovely stuff this season (on rare occasions) - yes, I said this season - and last season we played as good as stuff as any bar Arsenal (who finished below us proving lovely football proves sweet f*ck all). Forgetting the fact we done all of the top four sides last year too, are we? Played United off the pitch twice. Done Chelsea twice, and battered them at Anfield. Forgetting that 8-0 against Besiktas? 2-1 at the Nou Camp? What about being top scorers in the league? What about that match against Arsenal in the CL? Mourinho's Inter more entertaining than us in the past few seasons? Fuck right off. Chelsea were absolutely terrible to watch under Mourhino for long spells, yet were granted praise because they ground out 1-0 wins. That grinding out won them titles. It had f*ck all to do with Mourinho's football style, which for the most part can be even more defensive than Rafa's. Amazing how a couple of month's worth of poor performances can suddenly change history for some.

as for Mourinho his lot have met with Man C and now we here he is odds on to be the new Real madrid manager, its now seems the chances of him coming here are getting smaller by the day.
I think we had our chance to grab his a few weeks ago and missed out.

ok so who is the next name on the list of managers that might be looking to move on.......well i am told it :censored: MON

Mourinho is either Manchester (either flavour) or Madrid bound...havn't seen any recent odds.  But i'd be willing to lump on any of those 3.

Say what you want, you put this club down, I'll put you down. Simple as that. The tripe you and some of your similar mentality cohorts who do nothing but spout bile, day in, day out towards this football club of late is nothing short of disgraceful. Should just f*ck off and support someone else, how you like them apples?
