Almost every time he starts a game he is one of the worst players on the pitch. When he comes off the bench he sometimes looks decent. I think considering how many times Torres has been injured over the past 18 months Babel should have been given 3 or 4 consecutives starts upfront to see if he has any chance what so over of making it as a striker for us.

To be honest mate if it hasn't happened by now it probably wont. Having said that things could still change but that would have to involve him playing out of his skin for the rest of the season which seems unlikley given he doesn't even break a sweat trying to chase a ball down.

Has the lad ever been given a run in his proper position which is either as the man playing off the main striker or as the main striker to give him any sort of confidence, no he's not, he's been moulded or tried to be moulded into a player that Rafa has wanted him to be, just leave the lad alone for sake, some proper downright on this forum, that's a nailed on fact.

I saw the lad ply his trade for Ajax and he was an exceptional talent, if Wenger had signed him he'd be a world beater, if Rafa had signed Fabregas he'd be below Lucas in the pecking order.

like this I was referring to about 2 posts ago. Face it mate, put your vendetta against Rafa to one side and assess Babel on what you've seen of him. He isn't good enough and that's the end of it

He might be great at a different club but he's set in his ways at Liverpool now and isn't going to live up to hype he's had associated with him

This has to be the only topic ever made, where the same things are said for 30 straight months...........why is it still active?
We all know he has little motivation to work hard, we also know he is capable of incredible displays of skill.
The end result is he signed for the wrong club at the wrong time.

He has strengh and power but nothing else, most of the time he doesnt even use that.

Feck if only we kept Anelka instead of going for Diouf... that must be the worst decision Houllier ever made... He's known to be a freakin talent spotter FFS and we bought Diouf and let go of Anelka... Imagine our strike force of Anelka and Torres... every defence will be shitting in their pants that's for sure...

It would be nice to have the luxury of playing Babel 3 or 4 consecutive games and not worry about the results. But in the real world you are not afforded that luxury.

The best way to force your way into your manager's plans by tearing it up in training. Rafa always makes references to Babel needing to try harder, and I think that it is his lack of commitment that is stopping him from making that final step.

You could have understood the signing more if we'd paid say £7m or less, but for the price we paid you'd expect something near the finished article and he's still some way off it.

You have to expect the same players to result in the same cyclical and circular arguments with the same comments, it happens with pretty much every player so do you propose we close all threads that have the same comments because there'd be virtually none left !

I think its a confidence thing with Babel... personally, I'd prefer to see him in the starting line up than N'gog. He does let himself down on occassion but so do others who seem to get regular starts. He says he would like to play as a central attacking player and I for one would love to see him given a proper chance... his pace alone is enough to scare opposition defences.

You can say a lot about Ngog but at least he makes an effort when he is playing. Once in a blue moon babel comes with a wondergoal, but most of the time he just seems uninterested. Rafa has shown way too much patience with him. Sure he has pace and has a powerful shot, but he consistently makes wrong decisions when playing and just seems lazy.

Exactly the Kid lives in his own little exclusive bubble ,I seriously doubt there has ever been such an arrogant despicable personality since Patrick Kluivert , another Dutch enigma who stunk out the Premier League with his move to Newcastle

Babel is simply a disgrace and should be marched out of our club post haste with his head firmly bowed in shame

Babel got no footballing brain. He's lazy and arrogant ( ooo i play like Thierry Henry...). Got an awful first touch (i can't recall any 'world Class' player with that kind of problem) ... Not given enough chances? FFS, he's been here for 3 years already.. Get Rid.
