Its games like this that define a season or in case a win would kick start our season , we have been below par , pathetic since the start of the season. We haven't dominated matches like we are capable off , you can point the finger at alonso leaving , the owners , rafa , anything else but at the end of the day, it comes down to the 11 man on the pitch . A manager's job is to pick his best 11 and send them out , however they perform is not in his hands. Rafa may have made some bizarre calls but that is all forgotten once we go on the pitch on sunday. We need a win and anything else bar that and rafa's head will be on the line.

If gerrard is out , it just makes our task more difficult but not impossible , we have beaten manu without both torres and gerrard and we might be looking at a same scenario this time round , we are "without" both at the moment officially but you can bet your house on at least one if not both having some part in this game , be it on the bench for hope . Mascherano will be absolutely pivotal in this match and he has to have the daunting task of shutting down united's midfield of fletcher,scholes,giggs,anderson,valencia . He will have to keep a cool head and play the game he's more then capable off .

United's weakness is also usually their strongest area of the squad , the defence. Vidic , he maybe a beast in the air but on the ground , everyone knows that as long as you've got a player with a bit of pace he's always going to trouble the serb . Bellamy ran him ragged a couple of seasons back , torres showed it last season , Eto showed it in the champions league final when he turned away from vidic . Vidic's tackling and aerial prowess is spot on but his pace and turning will always be second to a player with good pace. Stick Babel uptop if torres doesn't make it and if he does , better still revert the formation , go to 4-4-2 with babel and torres uptop. Rio now is also the second weakness in the defense , he hasn't been himself this couple of weeks and his confidence is shaky at the moment , he has had a torrid couple of weaks and fergie has openly admitted it. Exploit thier defense and we will surely get something out of the game.

Come Sunday all our previous losses shall be forgotten , d treat this as the first game of the season , go out with all guns blazing regardless of who we have available and who we don't , if burnley can do it , heck so can we. Whatever the outcome , the result , i'll be cheering my team on . YNWA

If torres,gerrard are fit than we could get something out of this game. Even though last season we won without them this time its a different story because we are cack without them.
Going to be a toughie, if the players have the right attitdue i think we could get something from this game.
Either it will be 1-1 or 1-2 to mancs.

I think Rafa wont play Torres or Gerrard, neither will be even 90% fit and he could risk losing them both for a much longer period.

It's a difficult situation, risk losing to Manure, or risk losing either long term. I know we have said this time and time again, but now is a :censored:

good time for the rest of the squad to show some balls and show us Liverpool isnt a two man team.
